Last year one could get about 500 SCs for about $1,000 bucks flying return to NZ on the DSC promo. This year it costs a lot more than that. There are ways to retain status if you want it enough.

Note that's if they do them. If they have plenty of forward bookings they may decide that one for the year is enough.

There's the one usually Feb/Mar or possibly as late as April, that's already been this year. Offers in the second half of the year are more likely to be targeted ones unless QF is really desperate for bookings.

I'm mainly interested in Green Tier to boost my LTSC tally. If it helps with attaining/retaining status in the current year that's a bonus.

I found the old J pretty good. There are advantages and disadvantages with the newer seats.

I think the only reason for further blanket extensions at this point would be if we highly unexpectedly go back into extended border closures and/or lockdowns.

That’s not new. In practice once they start posting they typically post within a few days or so of travel. The first batch always takes longer to post. However, if they don’t post automatically you’ll need to wait for 8 weeks after travel before pushing for them to be posted.

There will be less F seats so it will be interesting to see what the reward seat release is like. Though there will also be more routes with F seats.

I achieved my fifth leaf from a flight booked during the DSC promo. I haven’t seen a pop up to select a reward yet, but hopefully soon. I do have the fifth leaf now.
