Qantas double status credits OR double points offer [book 23-28 March 2023]

There's plenty of ambiguity and lack of clarity in the T&Cs.

Yes, I'm not saying it's a bad idea. I'm adding to the list of things the post should mention as there are plenty of questions posted in this thread which are clearly answered in the T&C.

Given the relentless questions over and over again on some of the Facebook groups, I can only image what sort of questions the call centre were getting (Does my codeshare flight on Jetstar/Emirates/etc count? Does booking through FlyBuys/Amex/Webject/FlightCentre count)
yeah.. I can but imagine and this is probably one reason the call times have gone insane - even for the ViP team. Plus all the rest adding sectors and trying to book arcane routings to max SC earn and such (nothing wrong with this, just takes up the time of agents :) )

I really don't think a pinned post would make much difference. They're not reading the T&Cs, so I don't think they'll read through a pinned post.
You're probably right, but you know... if at least one person sees it, stops and reads it, and has their question answered without need for posting, then that's a win for everyone....

The last time I bought a GV during double SC credits, very few people were able to fly for the next two years.
Alas I still have the (valid one more year) voucher waiting for my exAustralia wandering

Poor fight club. That is all.
Given they added very specific wording to the terms a few years ago - I'm certain they know very well about it... it's just too hard to fix without a system overhaul. We'll see soon enough whether they have invested in that yet, or not :)

EDIT to add - I didn't partake this year in that activity, either... but I did find in my e-mail archives about $200 worth of these from 2019 (I think) that I never ended up using, and which later expired during the pandemic at the 3-year mark :(

Reports on FB showing lots of fares dropped back to pre D status levels. A shame for those needing to book in that period who weren't chasing the DSC and just had to pay big for the privilege they probably didn't even know to register for.
I rechecked my bookings, the $139 BNE-SYD fares are still $139 and the o_O $1862 MCY-SYD-AKL-SYD-MCY is still there also.
I suspect it's detritus of the DSC offer which produces "sale" fares like these. Why buy flex J when you can pay more for sale J...

a FAQ or pinned post with all the usual questions answered would be great maybe - as over and over people can't be bothered reading 20+ pages (or apparently QF's FAQ's in some instances) and post similar questions.
I get where you’re coming from, but is spoon-feeding the answer?

My travel experience has improved significantly since I discovered AFF - but I’ve read thousands of posts to get there.

I’ve asked my share of questions, but I’ve answered plenty too.

I’m just not sure giving easy answers to first time posters is in the best interests of AFFers, especially on questions like fight club.

If you looked at my suggested items for a "FAQ" it was mostly clarifying things in the T&C to make them clear like what flights qualify (such as QFLink inc Alliance etc). the common questions that people seem to have.. That's not spoon feeding or anything - clearly QF's (as usual) poor wording of things causes confusion that means people do ask things like "Well does a QF flight operated by..." count or not. It may seem simples to we old timers but again, if just putting that there that makes it clear and saves one extra post asking the same question again then isn't that a good thing?

I'm not suggesting to spoon things like SC earning suggestions or sweet spots in the programs or whathaveyou.

anyway it's just a thought for the next time. If we're about helping the flying community to clarify things that QF seemingly can't (or aren't immediately obvious) then I consider that a good thing for others.

each to their own.

Qf sale was launched today ex NZ.
That’s nice, but as I am in AU I would need a sale departing AU.

Gonna be a NZ sale after the current Japan one I reckon, welcome back $1000 I fares!
If they bring back J to NZ for about $1,000 I might do that. I’d rather two trips for $1,000 each than one DSC $2,000 trip to exactly the same place. I couldn’t bring myself to pay $2k return to go to NZ (though I did consider it) when it was about $1k last year

Has anyone had an issue with double status credits not posting? I registered for double status credits last week, and booked some flights on the 27th under my frequent flyer number. I flew on one of those flights last night but just now when I checked it only gave me the regular credits and not double. It was on qantas metal from Australia to New Zealand in economy

The first batch never post quickly. Wait a week or so and check it out.
