I know this question has come up in the past, for not for a few years I think. I'm looking to book flights to Europe for next year. Departing Sydney, but could fly into Madrid, Paris or other Cities. Not too fussed. We're still fairly flexible on dates so can avoid school holidays etc...

Ah OK. Just had a look at a past email. Business fare to London 1.3 million points one way. :rolleyes: Guess that's one way to use them up.

I guess that's half the problem. Who knows when 'batches' of seats get released?

Have to say I have about given up on Qantas. Lifetime Gold with about 2 million points that I can't use. At least for flights. I use them for domestic upgrades but that's about all........ For long haul I just buy tickets on Emirates or others.

Sorry for being a bit Dumb. But why wouldn't I just book it online? I can see the tickets there. If there a benefit to using a call centre?

Just to close the loop on this one. I ended up just buying Business seats on Emirates to Europe. The issue was, that the sectors I wanted were code share on Emirates aircraft. So I couldn't upgrade with QF points anyway........

OK, thanks. Just looking at Economy at this stage. (no premium seats either) Interesting when I switch off points + play I see a reward seat outbound. Then when I select reward seats on the filter. There are no seats at all. :rolleyes: I might try multi city.

How did you get the EK upgrades? was it a Qantas flight number? My understanding is that we can now only get upgrades on Qantas aircraft. i.e. Not a code s hare.
