Thai Airways - Transferring Points to Friends?

Hi, I'm not having much luck finding this on the Thai Airways website, so hopefully someone here has some experience of this..... My friend has offered to give me his Thai points, so that I can use them for a long haul upgrade from Econ to Business. He is ROP Platinum. I am Silver. Any idea...

    Dumb Newbie Question.....Status Run

Obviously not that frequently :-( Just under 11,000. Seems like you need 14,000 for lifetime Gold.

    Dumb Newbie Question.....Status Run

Hi, Whilst I've been a Qantas FF for 20 years I haven't paid much attention to Status. I was always flying fairly often. But this year I haven't flown much and I'm concerned I won't keep my Gold Status. I'll need to rack up 350 SC by the end of January :-( I have to go up to Bangkok, so...

Qantas Emirates Alliance ....but fewer Benefits? Not Happy Qantas ..........

Indeed that's another option. But I think we might just fly Thai on all the sectors....

Qantas Emirates Alliance ....but fewer Benefits? Not Happy Qantas ..........

I spoke to Qantas a couple of times today after trying a few different online booking options. In the end it all seemed too hard. I was trying to come back from UK with a stopover in Bangkok, and use Qantas points to upgrade. It's simply not possible to fly back via Asia on Qantas aircraft...

Qantas Emirates Alliance ....but fewer Benefits? Not Happy Qantas ..........

Yes I can. It's the LHR-BKK sector that is the issue as Qantas no longer fly that sector. It's now Emirates via Dubai... LHR-DBX is Qantas. DBX-BKK is Emirates.

I need to stop in BKK on the return. (I live there part of the year) Which when Qantas operated those sectors was great.

Qantas Emirates Alliance ....but fewer Benefits? Not Happy Qantas ..........

Yes I get all that.... Just annoying that Qantas have effectively cut back the service and outsourced it to Emirates :(

Qantas Emirates Alliance ....but fewer Benefits? Not Happy Qantas ..........

Just annoyed that Qantas used to fly these sectors. And since they now do it using Emirates........I can't upgrade. :( Maybe I need to join Emirates and book directly with them in future ?

Qantas Emirates Alliance ....but fewer Benefits? Not Happy Qantas ..........

Am I missing something here? I hope so......... I'm just booking some Qantas flights for next year. Sydney -London Then London - Sydney with stop over in Bangkok. I'm booking economy and plan to upgrade using points. Except..........the return flight is via Dubai and a code share with...

    QF Booking Class?

Clever bit of script! I installed it today and it worked great on FF. Then.........I noticed that the Qantas site now gives Ticket Class and Status Points during the booking process. Someone must have been reading this forum :)

Thanks Mattg. I'll check out that thread. So basically, there is no longer a way to book a fare using points + pay and still get SCs? If you want SCs, you need to pay cash for the fare, at an appropriate class of ticket that gives SCs?
