First rewards booking on EK coming up as “Premium Economy”

Understood. As long as there won’t be any issues later but it looks like it will be fine. So the two airlines use different fare codes for some classes and Qantas does not take this into account when issuing these ticket documents.

First rewards booking on EK coming up as “Premium Economy”

Ah- that explains it, silly Qantas. Definitely shows up as First on EK and they’ve also deducted the full amounts of points. So shower suite, here I come!

First rewards booking on EK coming up as “Premium Economy”

I don’t think this question has been asked before but if it has, please feel free to move this. I just booked Qantas classic award seats on EK flights, SYD-DXB in First and then DXB-MCO in Business. Receiving the e-ticket receipt, the first sector shows as “First” but then says “Premium...

Article: Qantas Auckland Lounge Upgrade: The End of an Era

As I’ve said many times before, I will believe it when I see it  Love the “at least”…

QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

I had exactly the same thing happening today and it was definitely Hobart I was speaking to. Sounded to me as if this was a rather new, very scripted, way to keep our hopes up. But we all know that it’s a rejection.

    Upgrade excitement

The totally unexpected free ones are the ones where I get seriously excited. But making a dance in public? Not really my style, no.

Article: Qantas Auckland Lounge Upgrade: The End of an Era

If I remember correctly, the upgraded Auckland lounge had been promoted to be ready in time for the moon landing, fall of the Berlin Wall and the 2000 Sydney olympics…

Article: Qantas Auckland Lounge Upgrade: The End of an Era

Getting off topic but could not agree more, such a hellish nightmare this off area for pick ups! Some “very smart” Kiwis must have done a tax-payer funded excursion to LAX-it and have thought “Eeeeh, we ceeen do thiiis beeeter!” (Apologies for my bad attempt at a Kiwi accent which I actually adore)

Article: The Next Airlines to Join Oneworld, SkyTeam & Star Alliance

One World really needs one of the Chinese mainland airlines as a member. I know that Cathay are blocking this but I’ve seen rumours of CX being swallowed by Air China sooner or later. We will see what the future brings.

Article: Qatar Airways Adds Caviar in Business Class

Oh true, I had been the last time just a week or two before that had all opened up. Good to know that it has made a positive change- might “unavoid” Doha then for another try!

Article: Qantas Auckland Lounge Upgrade: The End of an Era

Oh my gosh… I had always wondered what goes on behind that door, especially while it was was “Closed for renovations” over many many months and then suddenly opened up again. Now we all know- it’s the thing my worst nightmares are made of! And I’m a bit of a hygiene freak so dirty grimy...

Good point! Maybe they are secretly just waiting for their chance to pull off the renovation entirely as it’s “not really needed anymore”

Article: Qantas Auckland Lounge Upgrade: The End of an Era

Reno? Thought of casinos here for a moment… 😅 But in earnest- don’t consider me surprised. I will seriously be surprised when it finally happens. How long has this shameful saga been going on now- was it not well before Covid when the “upcoming” renovation was spruiked first? I’m actually...

Article: Qatar Airways Adds Caviar in Business Class

Wow- they’ve even found a way to further up their game which is hard to do given their business class us already light years ahead of all the competition in my eyes, especially if you get a Q-Suite. I just wished Doha airport wasn’t so overcrowded, messy and generally underwhelming compared...

Article: Qantas Auckland Lounge Upgrade: The End of an Era

Problem with that lounge is that they stop offering any proper hot food past mid afternoon (unless this has changed since the pandemic as I’ve been there last just shortly after the final NZ lockdown- happy to be corrected) which is essentially making this the worse longe in the whole airport if...

Article: Qantas Auckland Lounge Upgrade: The End of an Era

Oh totally, by far the best lounge in Auckland. And these days rather empty as not that many EK flights going anymore (super short opening times unfortunately too, as a result). I still think Qantas should just get over themselves and fork out the cash to pay their “dear partner” Emirates for...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

I keep saying this as it’s astounding to me: American keep doing this- pre departure drinks on most flights (dependent on the crew but the standard seems to be yes, do it) and pre-selection of main meal, even on Domestic flights. You don’t even have to look as far as QR or SQ. If AA can do it...
