Not sure..the JAL agent kept pointing to the normal F checkin, another (?more senior) agent came to investigate the "discussion", then took our passports and led us the F lounge checkin area and apologised for her colleague when I quered why I wasn't directed there in the first place.

That's what Bain does...makes money. They didn't buy Virgin for the love of the aviation industry, the travelling public, frequent flyers etc. Everything they do is about making money!

Yeah but he and Virgin know that Va flights are almost aleays quite a bit cheaper than Qf flights,...and most of us can survive 1-2 hours offline (just fot me ;) )

As mention elsewhere, a close member of the family works for Bain. He doesn't share alot as it is confidential information but your analysis marries well with what he implies to my comments about Bain's ownership of Virgin. BTW, he bluntly told me that I and my freq flyer mob are not Virgin's...

You don't have to...a close family member works for Bain and he knows my feelings about the Va lounges ..they are cough!...don't expect the lounge offerings to improve anytime soon! Va aims to fit in between Qf and J*...it is no longer competing for business customers with Qf. The new CEO...

Well prior to this announcement I let my Va Plat lapse to Gold and now to Silver wirh no intenion of maintaining any status with Va. The offerings in the Sydney lounge (home airport) are cough (except for barista made coffee) and premium entry is only open in early am. I often don't even go to...

Very difficult to find them in Sydney...had to go to multiple stores...eventually got 20x $500 :)
