New Amex statement credits

Ok thanks for the DP's. Will leave it a few more days then chase up if they don't arrive.

When I first got my first Amex card (back in the good old 2016 days), they were really good. 1:1 transfers to airlines, amazing customer service, brilliant offers.

Now they're so far away from that, it's crazy.

How can a company "devalue" so quickly in not so long a timeframe? It's really disappointing. I've also had subpar experiences with them recently, but not to the level that you have (I followed your FHR thread with much interest as the story developed - that was a rollercoaster but thank you for bringing us all along for the ride). That takes extra special determination to fight as long as you did. I applaud you.

I think all Amex need to do is offer something more than the competition. As other cards started limiting the number of points you could earn per month, reducing the earn rates etc, Amex realised that could cut costs and people would remain. Essentially a race to the bottom, just be a little less worse than the competition.

I'm missing a $5 credit from the Daylight Saving offers. I used the chat function to be told:

I appreciate your patience, as per the offer terms credit should appear on your billing statement within 15 business days from qualifying spend but may take up to 90 days from the offer end date.

I would kindly request you to wait for sometime for the credits to get issued to your account. However, if you do not see the credits, feel free to reach out to us and we will surely raise an investigation for you.

Borrowing from the QF playbook? 🤔

Borrowing from the QF playbook? 🤔
Borrowing from everyone's playbook. There's not a Rewards or Frequent Flyer programme that I know of that doesn't inflate the time it takes to receive points or credits. AmEx is one; Qantas is another; Virgin is another; the banks, overseas FF programmes -- they all do it.

What it means is that, as you've discovered, if points are not received you need to wait until the end of the maximum time given by the points/credit issuer, before you can query. If you query before then, you'll get exactly the answer you got from Amex.

Nothing in the Ts and Cs saying the $60 can't be spent 5x in the same store. ;) ...that's my reading.

Like all offers.. not like the good days. At least its better than last year but $10 off hardly makes a dent on the purchase. Hopefully the retailers have some good in-store deals too which usually helps.

Has anyone used the vogue credit to buy coles and myer gift cards and received the benefit? T&Cs exclude gift cards from Myer but unsure how they would even notice this unless you do all 5 transactions equal to exactly $60 at one time.

It is a bit early to receive the credit - it usually takes a few days. Past Amex offers from Myer have paid the credit on GC purchases. YMMV.

Added an offer to my card 5 min before I made the spend. Looking like it did not register uuff

It is Wine Friday today;

Tulloch - 250 / 50
Laithwaites - 150 / 50
The Australian Wine - 150 / 50
Virgin Wines - - 150 / 50

and if you need a new Volvo

Mosman Volvo - 5000 / 500
It seems Amex thinks I should moderate my alcohol intake 😳 Only received the Laithwaites offer.
I can buy a Volvo though!
