Having recently travelled through Jnb 3x, I would highly recommend you stay overnight at Jnb airport eg City Lodge whch is 3* hotel and a 10-15 min indoor walk from arrivals hall. Arrival immigration at Jnb can be a long wait!

Back to home in Sydney yesterday....your TR very accurately describes our recent experiences travelling through Namibia for 8 nights. :) Great and very interesting country but I won't be missing those long drives on very bumpy gravel roads!

Checkin opens at 2pm, ie 4 hours before the 555pm Qf64 flight. The BA lounge at Jnb which Qf uses also opens at 2pm to cater for the Qf passengers...a FYI post. :)
