If you need to withdraw cash while overseas it is worth it to have the green plastic Wise card. Much better rates and you save on bank fees. You get 2 free withdrawals at an ATM a month up to $350 AUD.

You load the AUD onto the green plastic card via the Wise app. It shows up instantly. I use my NAB debit card. Then also using the app, you use the Send Money function to your US bank account. Mine is B of A. Doing it this way it shows up instantly in B of A. If I use Send Money direct...

I also noticed that when done this way they post as a Transfer which may not be considered ACH. Done as a Send Money, they post as Deposit which for years has been counting as a $250 or more deposit to save the monthly account fee.

I just discovered recently that transfers via Wise to a US bank account are much faster if you load the AUD onto the Wise card first, then send it to the US account. Shows up almost instantly.

Did you do the form 1583? I think they need that to receive letters like from USPS. I printed mine out and had it notarized when I was in the States and emailed it to Planet Express. But I haven't changed it on the banks yet.

I don't have kids but this seems like it will impact everyone if we all start having to give personal information to prove we aren't under 18. This should be dealt with at the parental level and make them responsible for bad behaviour (like cyberbullying) by their kids.
