Woolworths gift card thread

Please pardon my ignorance; what's the usual points accrual for these gift cards? (I thought that you didn't earn any points unless there's a particular promotion.) So, during this promotion, for a $100 gift card, how many points would you get: 600?
Lastly, are these for both physical and digital cards?
Thank you.
Yes you would get 600, and only via the card store which is via the EDR App.

It’s a relatively straightforward process, I purchased one this arvo and it goes to your email or EDR app profile right away.

Do note as with prior offers the points won’t post until 7-14 days later.

There is usually no EDR earn outside a promotion*. You do get the underlying credit card earn. Platinum Edge will usually earn at 3 Amex MR/$ as it goes through as supermarket spend

*though you will earn any relevant EDR points when you spend them
@andye, I have thought about getting a Platinum Edge - I've got a Platinum (with a slightly lower points earn at supermarkets). Although, that would mean that I'd have to forfeit any sign-on bonus.
So, I'd get the bonus points for the purchase, then regular points when used for Woolworths transactions? So, double-dipping?

@Saab34, so can this then be used in-store or only online?
I'll take note of the delay in points being posted.

(This looks a good deal, so I'm keen to take part in it.)
My understanding is that you only get the points for one transaction but multiple cards (up to a certain limit), can be purchased as part of that one transaction (unless I'm mistaken).

The Edge works for me as the fee is offset by the travel credit. I like my Amexes so dont churn them

The eWish you buy online can be used instore or online

I'm not sure if you can buy multiple cards but the Wish covers most stores so I bought a $500

The T&C's state under purchase limits that "there is a purchase limit of 1 gift card valued at up to $500 in a single transaction", so I'd suggest it's 1 card only. If memory serves me right, as soon as you select the value of a card in the app, you go straight into a check-out process, not making it possible to add other cards to the same transaction.

@andye - I like Amex too - I wonder whether the travel credits (Platinum Edge, and Platinum) can be combined (I'm assuming not but will be happy to be wrong).
It's great that I can use it in-store.

@chrispy3276 - Good to know - I'll give this a go when I return early next week.

Can't. So when I was in Seoul last month, I made 2 bookings for the same hotel, one for 4 nights $432.4 to use my $400 Reserve credit, then second booking $300.42 to use my $200 Edge credit. Got to the hotel, and asked front desk if I could keep the same room for the two bookings. The front desk staff couldn't get her head around this at the beginning 😁

Thank you for the confirmation, @Chicken.

There was one lonely variable at Chermside amongst a sea of $50s and $100s. My guess is that someone hid it and an employee found it and put it on the rack. No more were stashed in the storage thingy, I asked.

I wish there was a way to use Apple credit from these cards to pay bills like AGL, Vodafone and supermarket shopping.
If you get the right scammer on the phone it may be possible!

I don’t think it’s fair to say they were hiding it. They were simply optimizing its location in anticipation of a future promotion.

I can use my Apple account credit in my phone wallet. So I guess you could use them if paying in person at a post office or supermarket???

I might have to try that.

Beerwah have plenty on the shelves, but that might have something to do with their promo posters still showing the bonus for Accor etc from early in the month :)

Hope others have better luck than me!
I ended up getting lucky out in Windsor NSW on the weekend. Plenty of variable cards available, which I wasn't expecting to find in the metropolitan area.

Two of my local stores have conveniently restocked the variable load cards multiple times this week.
