Woolworths gift card thread

So I found lots of 500s tonight, it was stacked over 2 hooks. I went for the bottom hook and took number 2 and 3 leaving the first one there.
After paying I looked at the cards and it was the MASTERCARDS a gift for you... -__-
Someone had put the 1st card on the wrong hook. If I went for the top hook, I would've have been fine since it was all the birthday visa ones.
They said to come back to see the Manager tomorrow to see if I can refund.

Anyone have any success stories on refunds? At the time I didn't leave the store yet but unfortunately the supervisor doesn't have authority to do it and said maybe the store manager can. She wrote down what had happened.

Maybe OT, but Australian Unity has 10% off Woolworth gift card up to $200 per member. Still, $400 gift cards for $360 beats most other offers around for me and Mrs D.

I am certain you will not get a refund. Keep in mind that you have now activated the card, so unlike the other cards on the rack there is an actual $500 liability per card to WW now.

That said, you can only ask.

Yeah cards are active. They said they can't process it normally but the store manager might be able to manual overide and hold the card until the 3rd party company comes by and return it to them. I'll see how it goes tomorrow.
You won't get a refund but if you contact Everyday Rewards there's a decent chance they'll manually credit you the points as a once off "good will" gesture. I've seen it happen many, many times before.
Will try this after if they can't refund.
Do they have a contact number or is via email?

@Ktan89 The checkout screen will always tell you how many points you will earn before you pay, or you can ask. Generally if it doesn't show the right number of points you shouldn't proceed.

In terms of the refund I would say extremely unlikely. Although the manager might sympathise with your situation, from the perspective of the gift card company why would they agree to refund you?

Yeah won't be getting a refund, even while in the store it's close to impossible..

Yes I don't proceed at Woolies until you have converted 5000 Qantas points popup appears (in my case as I convert to QFF)

Last promo an operator had trouble passing the approval screens and he kept voiding and starting again, and there was no points pop up. I refused to pay/proceed and made him cancel the whole order and try another register. At this time the points popup appeared :)

Exactly this. I love, and rely on, the fact that the points total is displayed before payment. These offers have been coming through quite regularly recently for the various cards which do look alike. It's easy to accidently pick up the wrong denomination (eg $50 v $500, as I did once but realised when checking for evidence of tampering) and as @Ktan89 found out they're not always stacked correctly.

Bottom line is no points on the display, no pay.

I'm such a newbie at this...I didn't know the points and bonus points will show up on the check out screen. Thank you for the tip!

I did check if it was tampered but totally forgot the front and in the moment was damn sure it was the right looking card

Live chat via the Everyday Rewards app/website or call 1300 10 1234.
So I live chat them this morning and the feedback here was spot on. They were able manually add the 10,000 points to my account as a 1 time goodwill gesture. Saved me from heading to the store again, but then they did put 2 x $500 aside for me.. so maybe I'll pick those up today haha

Great info on this forum as always :) thank you

This is proving mission impossible for me.

If anyone knows where i can get the $500 vouchers in Sydney's eastern suburbs please private message me.

I have already tried without success:
Double Bay
Rose Bay metro
Bondi Beach metro
Bondi Junction
Alexandria metro
Green Square metro

I am running out of time and patience. If i cant get these cards then Jim Chalmers wont be happy.
