Qatar in talks to take up to 20pc stake in Virgin

Highly doubt it. As discussed in the other thread, certainly some of VA2’s core ‘values’ might be ‘reshaped’ though with a part owner like Qatar though 😦 👀

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

Sounds like a threat. Rebrand incoming: Virgin Guzman v Rooster Rex.

Oh the Queensland taxpayers (myself included) will take care of the bill, don’t you worry about that, we love shelling out dollars for fits and giggles…

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

Qantas launches flights between Adelaide & Albury

There’s some aircraft availability issues with QFLink fleet right now due to the A220/717 transition timelines changing. The turbo prop fleet is being moved around to fill holes and a couple of routes have quietly been dropped.

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

(I know it’s not your point but) So the new VA2i is going to have to siphon away not only customers from the QF group but also players like Singapore, Qatar and Cathay as well. I just don’t see it happening. I think the current low/value domestic carrier is all we are going to see (with a...

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

Interesting scenario to discuss - but very risky because again QF have the corporate / business / premium ground and they also have Jetstar deployed on those exact routes you mention to scoop up the cost conscious customers. Add to VA2’s competitors in this scenario a full deck of other...

    Qantas Trans Tasman Pretend IFE

The JetConnect 73H services I’ve been on last few months have all made announcements to download the app prior to departure. Of course that doesn’t help you if you haven’t brought an iPad on board!

Qantas to Introduce Group Boarding and Bag Tracking

Flew back via MEL this AM and there were plenty of people turned away for not checking their group boarding number properly and zero exemptions given. Personally I think the staff quite liked sending people back if you ask me! It was interesting comparing my weekday ‘corporate’ flight v a...

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

Undoubtedly… but VA2 would be waiting a very long time for those aircraft - Airbus are in very high demand thanks to the ongoing disaster that is the Boeing MAX. Unfortunately VA2 put all the eggs in the MAX basket and hitched their fleet strategy on them…I think they had signed on the dotted...
