Rex in voluntary administration, ending all 737 services

The airport can probably keep billing for the gate without needing to do any work. OK there might not be any money left but if there is then it could be a cash win for the airport. The gate might also be locked in to unexpired REX contract which is in place until the Administrator says otherwise.

    Qantas Courtesy Upgrade Love

P1 previously was 1 in 10 for an upgrade without requesting. having said that in the last 8 flights have had 4 upgrades without asking.

I don’t think it’s the loyalty, the self indulgence of giving the CEO benefits while the ship was sinking says it all about REX. I think a select group of us here on AFF could have improved the situation if asked a year ago to help. When you look at the skill set here and the passion for air...

Rex in voluntary administration, ending all 737 services

I don’t disagree that no other airline has the same fleet make up of REX, small or large, fat and thin body. I also think that other airlines should be given a go to think outside current box REX has created. REX should only be saved if the current board, owners and management are moved on...

Nexus has already offered to pick up WA routes. I say give it to them, REX has lost the moral high ground on retaining subsidies.

QR were only refused extra capacity into specific airports. REX didn't use its slots well by trying to take on 3 larger airlines already in the same competing market. All the various levels of Govt need to offer the exclusive subsidy REX received to another airline. I do agree country people...

Sure go for something a bit bigger with less frequency but stick to your bread and butter to keep the ship steady and on the track; to mix some transport metaphors. :)

Why didn't REX start renewing its aircraft with propeller jobs and stayed with it's Govt subsidised routes. Going against the 3 big guys was foreseeable suicide. Egos at REX were bigger than expected and those egos have wrecked the business.

There would be a cost for sure, but the lease company might take a deal now rather than push and risk getting nothing later.

Sell. If it dips under .43 might be worth putting a small amount (expect to lose it though) in with the hope there might be an international airline buyer
