    Virgin Atlantic joins Skyteam

Presumably this is due to Delta being a major owner of VS, and one of Skyteam's biggest airlines. They are probably looking to co-ordinate the brand better within Delta's business strategy.

Where's the loo? A quick first trip to WA

Not just Ningaloo , while in Perth you could have visited Innaloo (for your convenience) 😁 Nice pics btw.

Melbourne VA Lounge becoming airside from August 2022

I did not enjoy my experience of the new security. IMO MEL T2 security has mostly been staffed with miscreants and tin pot dictators, who spend theirs days trying to be as nasty as possible to most people (using "random selection" as an opportunity to target anyone who doesn't demure to their...

Time shifting Alan Joyce does it again - I leave Sydney before I arrive there

When the Titanic went down, the band played on... some employees simply could not acknowledge that an "unsinkable" ship was doing just that, and sinking! 🤷‍♂️

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

The chicken peri peri burger and the insides Overall it's a fail from me. The bun is too sugary, the chicken pieces are unappealing off-cuts, and the fact that it is only chicken (served lopped to one side) and sauce inside doesn't make it substantial enough of a meal for me.

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

I call this one - Chicken Parma @ Sunset. I particularly like the attention to detail the CM went to, with precisely placing the chocolate on the tray 😍

Virgin ‘New Era’ event Thur 19th. [*Postponed*]

Yeah but, IMO the (old) VA logo is(/was) much more modern and hip than the VS/VX logo... which looks like a geriatric from the 80s!

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

The vego tart/quiche/whatever, seems to have less pumpkin, plus with asparagus this cycle? (Short sector ~90 minute scheduled service, now with the added chocolate as mentioned previously. BUT no upgrade of the scotch from red back to black label :() A close up inside.

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

And VA have an extra level of meal service on those flights, with an additional dish, exclusively prepared for those sectors - normally an antipasto style plate, along side the mains, dessert and cheese&crackers.

    Qantas brand badly tarnished

You know, at least it's good honest communication about the situation, which I respect. ("Situation is ****, not much we can do about it, bare with us while we do the best we can.")

    Volt is shutting up shop

When Xinja collapsed at the beginning of Covid, I was left to wonder how much the government may have paid out as part of the $250k deposit guarantee, and again I wonder if things are being hushed up with Volt now? (So there is no loss of confidence in Australia's banking system.) When a finical...

Flight delayed, missed connection and abandoned by Qantas

Agreed, I fear it will probably take a "non-traditional" approach to get a remedy out of Qantas, they have already said "computer says no" - the go to phrase for customer service at Qantas these days. For me, I see the presented scenario fairly clearly - "Qantas causes mis-connect, then leaves...

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

So, while I don't want to take away from the displeasure about the poor service which you received from the CM on one of your flights, there are two general points I would like to make for posterity (/other readers) here (as I have had Qantas frequent flyers raise similar issues with me, after...

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Oh, oh, oh ... So here's the "blue light pasta" (the vego creamy one with pumpkin bits). Close up with the blue lights on - makes it glow pink!

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Airlines don't seem to plan the "meal" as a whole, which seems silly to me. They use the old fashioned: third protein, third vegetables, and third carbohydrates to design the meal, and then totally forget about all the added carbohydrates they put along-side the main plate (bread, chocolate...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Chicken or beef were the options, no PDB served. 3 hour scheduled service. No pre-meal drinks served. (No additional/alternate options to eat offered beyond what was supplied on the tray, small chocolate ball out of shot.) Yes - that whole main meal is around the same size as a slice of bread!

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Here's the chicken and pasta as served in a 3 hour scheduled flight (i.e. with a dessert). PDB offer - still water or sparkling wine. Orders taken and served in standard Z pattern, photos of the options shown on a tablet screen when taking the order.

Dual CAN/AUS citizen - what passport do I use where?

For departure from North America (at the point where you check in for your Australia bound sector) your Australian passport needs to be in the system. If you use a passport other than the AU one, the system will reject you from check in, as it will flag that you don't have a visa to enter Australia.
