Passport Renewal / Application - Time Taken?

Though still inside the "upto 6 weeks" that they claim. It will be interesting to see how long it is for you. I am just 11 weeks out. I was intending to go at about 9 weeks to have a buffer.

    Velocity reinstates Singapore Airlines redemptions

Well competitive wise they actually dominate in terms of FF programs used by Australians. So perhaps your question is more How can Qantas FF redemptions be such poor value? 1/ Because in Australia so many just go to them in without really considering the pros and cons. Being "First in Mind"...

    Velocity reinstates Singapore Airlines redemptions

Thank you for confirming. I will keep a lookout for higher transfer bonuses then to Velocity.. I have moved points to Velocity for 40% bunus in the past. Sometimes in the past when the transfer rate to Krisflyer from Velocity was better and so one ended up with a higher number of Krisflyer...

    Velocity reinstates Singapore Airlines redemptions

Interesting. I don't have enough points to continue a dummy booking to see what the total booked cost would be. For someone that has, with the 157,300 Point option do any taxes and charges get added to it? Also for the 139,000 plus $108.64 option? $108.84 saving 18,300 points which in...

GOOD NEWS! Krisflyer Miles to be extended until 2023 [previously April 2022]

Yes moving to points being only used as cash for redemptions would most likely kill off the fantastic value to be gained in the current system. It would most likely move from being amazing value, to probably only being a minor discount. I continue to bless my good fortune of four decades of...

GOOD NEWS! Krisflyer Miles to be extended until 2023 [previously April 2022]

I think you are mixing up Krisflyer with other FF programs. ie Taxes and charges are very low on SQ Redemptions. ie Barcelona return in J was only $187 per person.

GOOD NEWS! Krisflyer Miles to be extended until 2023 [previously April 2022]

Any FF program has its pros and cons. And yes the 3 year validity is a con, but it is not a big one. Especially as one can if one only has a small Krisflyer balance also redeem on Virgin Flights in Australia at pretty reasonable rates. On the whole the Krisflyer Program is for me far superior...

GOOD NEWS! Krisflyer Miles to be extended until 2023 [previously April 2022]

Not "some kind". They can be "paid" to be extended. 6 or 12 months depending on your membership level. Your August points though should already be marked for "free" extension. See below. If you look at miles validity you will note that there is a at left. This indicates which points will...

GOOD NEWS! Krisflyer Miles to be extended until 2023 [previously April 2022]

As they expire. So any points due to expire in 2022 will be extended by 6 months. So points expiring in the first six months up till June will be extended twice in 2022 (ie a total of 12 months).

GOOD NEWS! Krisflyer Miles to be extended until 2023 [previously April 2022]

That just means that you can pay (with $ or points) to have them extended. Note that if you are a PPS Club Member or a Solitaire PPS Club member, your miles will never expire. You can only pay to have points extended once. Hence this column so you know which ones that are eligible to be...

    Travel Insurance which covers COVID-19?

Thanks for that link. I note that this updated policy comes into effect from 27 April 2022. And that it is Allianz who is the insurer. I wonder if the other Allianz policies provided by the other CC providers who use Allianz will adopt in the very near future similar wording to this policy...

    Travel Insurance which covers COVID-19?

Once one starts to outlay any significant expense, one needs to have an activated TI as a key benefit is if something happens and you cannot travel. Too many people get TI just before they depart. It still costs the same then, but they have foregone a big benefit.

KrisFlyer Star Alliance Round-the-World Award Planning

While the *A RTW Award is outstanding points value, remember that unless you really, really, enjoy the flying part that it is the actual "land"(or sea) experiences you enjoy while you are travelling at your destination/s that is the important part. Especially if your time is limited as all...
