Turkish Airlines flights to Sydney start November 2024

Possibly, but i just need to get to KL and my options end up being batik or air asia or Malaysian for direct. It'd be nice if there was an alternative since MH can be quite pricy. Also TK has some weird things going on. One of the flights they have as flex Y only (almost same price as J) but...

Chinese New Year and train vs plane

There won't be a "hassle" free travel option. Luckily though jan 29 (new years day) should actually be not as bad. The mass people migration should have occurred the days before. Think of it like flying on Christmas day or new years day. Most of the migration happens beforehand so they dan...

Oh no i was waiting for today to book (with the expectation of cancelling). As it opened up a potential return leg just in case emirates didn't cancel.

Would it be possible to make a hotel chain like Ryanair work (something that's affordable and provides good value)

Already exists buddy. The reason airline industry is harder is because the capex cost to get going is huge. By comparison hotel capex to get going isn't anywhere near as much and thus this sort of concept is around everywhere. From capsule hotels to Japanese "business hotels" to ibis, holiday...

    Qantas DSC October 2024 Offer - book by 31/10/24 & fly 1/11/24-19/10/25

There's a lot the call centre can do for booking including things that the t&c say they can't do. But some tasks are a bit more difficult than others so they may need to ask their team leader (even at Hobart or Auckland).

    Lounge Access Help Desk

How is lounge access for EK flights using EK membership then flashing QFF status at Melbourne? Or will they need QFF status attached to the booking?

Thoughts on a Ryanair like airline for Australia?

How did we jump from 3 to 4 airlines or have you missed the memo on Rex. Also why do tax payers pick up any tab? What tab are they picking up when a private company fails? Sure there's a few taxes owed here or there outstanding but thats usually quite small.

Thoughts on a Ryanair like airline for Australia?

Conceptually, I'd be happy if a Ryanair Australia appeared. In reality, due current landscape makes this a very hard thing to make happen from a business point of view. 1733293331 I'm not sure why you don't want them to exist. Them existing is good for you even if you never fly them...

    Lounge Access Help Desk

I don't believe this is officially the case, you can definitely ask, but be prepared to take one to J lounge and 1 to qantas club.

    Qantas’ Hidden Standby

Int'l will be different most of the time. Also judging by my call history spam (I missed a flight by oversleeping), QF tried until about 5mins before the flight to find out where I was. Given that was flight #1 for the day the 6am SYD-MEL, they probably called it off at 5:55. I think he means...

Qatar Airways to acquire 25% of Virgin Australia

You are asking for things Virgin Australia (the airline and company) would like to have. This thread and by and large whats happening is more in line with what Bain wants to do. Only has Bain finished offloading (which was their goal all along) would we likely see real medium to long term...

Emirates Cancels Singapore to Melbourne Flights from 30/3/25

On topic, I'm guessing my flight is a good indicator of how busy it is and why EK is looking to cancel. 1 pax in F, 9 in J and a pretty empty Y as well (the holding area had only 50~ pax by the looks of it). On the flip side, my wifi is reasonable faster than a full load.

Emirates Cancels Singapore to Melbourne Flights from 30/3/25

Check in said no. I believe it's because its QF ticket stock and not EK.
