How does Accor treat you as an Elite guest?

Curious if anyone knows which Accor Hotels serve champagne within their club/ executive lounges?

I’ve seen a few times recently that Pullman Melbourne City Centre offers Taittinger in the executive lounge throughout breakfast

Really enjoyed this stay. Very nice and enthusiastic check-in. Got a room right down the end of the corridor on a high floor (16/18); very quiet. Room was very, very similar to the Hilton DoubleTree I stayed in last week - bathroom lay-out and tiling, light fittings, power/usb plugs, aircon controls. Good selection of pillows - firm/soft/large/smaller.

There is an hour of choccie and confectionary nibbles in the foyer every day from 3:30pm. Valet parking (nothing on site).

Everything worked; the place is only a couple (?5) years old. Two quibbles: USB A only again and no concierge. With only two check-in stations, got very congested when I wanted to drop my car off for parking the second time.

This is right in the CBD and 5 mins walk to the docks, so well located.

Nice to see a menu for the welcome drinks. Wish more places would do this. The Shambles IPA was delicious. The bar is small - three chairs at the bar which is part of the restaurant.

I had dinner at the Italian restaurant in house which I was told was good - it was. I chose the Tasmanian 'road trip' menu, 'plates of produce from around the state'. Unfortunately the servers were clueless about the providor of each dish and when they asked the chef, in two cases it was "local provider". But very nice and large portions!



Oh, and ya gotta love a hotel that displays a rock in the foyer. Says a grateful guest donated it (it has a rare-ish Tas mineral -the purple bits - embedded in it). Hmmmm .. do I have to cart a kg of rock nowadays as a 'thank you' gift'?

For Hobart having stayed at both the ibis and the Mövenpick I am inclined to agree with you here. The room and breakfast are much nicer than what you would come to expect at an Accor hotel. For those curious here’s my review of the ibis Styles and here’s my review of the Mövenpick.

The hotel is also affordable, particularly if you have Accor+:


If there is a criticism I have, whilst it is a nice hotel and the rooms aren’t bad either, I was expecting more from the rooms. Specifically a better desk work area than that circular table. Again not a bad hotel and arguably one of the better (perhaps best hotels) in Hobart.

There is California Champagne of course, but I doubt that'd ever feature at an Accor hotel!

Its not Champagne if it does not come from defined areas of France. California is just yank fizz. Knowing Accor being French they probably have it written into their hotel agreements that all French provenance rules must be obeyed worldwide.

Agree about the desk, but room for a laptop and notepad.

Not sure about being one of the better or one of the best in Hobart. In absolute terms, you'd have to go with the Islington - and good grief - its now Hilton! After that, still boutique-y there's Federal's Henry Jones Art Hotel and Macq 1, on the docks; bigger and not so boutique, Wrest Point in Sandy Bay. Corinda Collection (Mr & Mrs Smith) is fabulous (historic home).

In terms of major chains after the Islington - there's Marriott's The Tasman: their highest ranked hotel in Australia ("6 star").

Of the 'run of the mill' chains, by choice I'd go for the Crowne Plaza, which I used to use a fair bit. Best range of bar and eateries (nice terrace) but the Movenpick isn't far behind.

This one was a bit interesting. I accidentally double booked this back a few months ago and the hotel management offered to put the amount as credit. I just had to book direct with them.

So most of the Accor benefits are there but at the same time I'm not 100% sure which room type i ended up booking.

Overall room is reasonablr sized and functional. It's attached to the Novotel and share a restaurant.

Early check in/late out: Yes, early check in at midday which was greatly appreciated. Staff made an effort to point out status and perks afforded to me. Late check out not required.

Welcome gift: Bottle of red wine, chocolate, and 2 large glass bottles of water (1 sparkling and 1 still). And a hand written welcome note.
Recommended: Yes; very happy with the hotel services, cleanliness, bar/restaurant area overlooking the pool, and perfect for freeway access in and out of the CBD.

I manage a few projects in Perth so usually visit once a quarter, having tried a few hotels (within the budget work allows me) I am very comfortable and happy with The Adnate. Will come back. Would like to try the Novotel to see what it is like over the road; though the views do seem blocked by neighbouring high rises, The Adnate city views are spectacular and uninterrupted. And car parking is easy with use of the multi deck carpark behind the hotel, the hotel gives you a reusable pass for your stay.

Comments : University booked this hotel at my request as I was presenting at a conference nearby in Melbourne. I chose the hotel both for the Accor benefits (and the ability to earn nights towards status) but also found it reasonably priced and very close to the conference venue (Deakin University Downtown).

I must preface this review by stating that I cannot give a fair view of how I was treated by the hotel as the hotel was booked through my organization's travel agency. Hence, my Accor details were not handed over to the property correctly (despite me being able to add the reservation in the Accor app). At the same time, I had arrived into Melbourne very late (close to midnight) due to Qantas cancellations that night and wasn't really in the mood to proactively check that everything was transferred over correctly. Hence, the first bit of my 3 night stay was the "standard" Accor experience.

The room itself is perfectly fine, although if there is a complaint I do have it is that there isn't a desk area to get work done. Instead one must clear out the coffee station area to set their laptop/iPad down to get work done:




The bathroom itself was also good. No shub nonsense (for those concerned about that) and a decent selection of amenities:


Breakfast was served in the restaurant on the ground floor and consisted of a buffet offering. Specifically, there were hot food options (hash browns, tomatoes, sausage, eggs, beans, bacon) and cold food options (e.g., yogurt, fruits, bread, various spreads). In other words just as one would expect at a mid tier Accor property:


I should point out that at check out I was told I had a charge for breakfast, at which point I had reception update my Accor details so that it showed up as Platinum (and thus could get the breakfast charges waived). I also received a drink voucher, which I'll probably use at the bar before heading to the Aeroport.

Would I stay here again? Absolutely! The price is right (it was even less than the price my Uni paid as an Accor+ member), and it's in a good location. I have no doubt that had I booked the property myself directly through Accor, I would have been treated as expected as a Platinum.

AND, discovered last night when using the vouchers for dinner at La Mesa, Accor Plus Dining discount was applied.

I wouldn’t normally bother with mentioning an Ibis hotel but this is the 3rd stay this year as lowly Gold but treated well.

Each time I’ve easily received a late checkout - great for arvo/evening onward flights to Europe/home.

Plus a free private transfer to the airport.

BUT this stay, they proactively reached via WhatsApp on the day of arrival asking if I needed a private transfer from the airport - which I jumped at. On landing, messaged back and forth to confirming timing and meeting point and off we went.

Previously, I knew there was shuttle service (seemed too confusing) so took a premium Grab (about $20 to go not very far). 2nd time tried unsuccessfully to find the shuttle and settled for a regular Grab in amongst the ordered chaos of CGK. The Private Hotel service collected us just outside the West Lobby door - all undercover.

Booked again for our return home but actually thinking of trying the Mercure PIK (just because there’s a bit more to do filling in time before the evening QF42).

On recent trips to Jakarta we have stayed for a couple of days so have headed into town but for a short stay I’d absolutely stay at the Mercure PIK again

I stayed earlier in the year and was surprised that I could hear planes reasonably well at 6am. Maybe just the room I was in but thought it was poor soundproofing for a new airport hotel. I’d only just stayed at Taipei airport which was whisper quiet so it stood out…

Didn't hear a thing @Lemon_Party , we are used to a very quiet night environment so can be disturbed easily.
We were on the 7th floor, as you say, perhaps that made a difference.

Comments: Nice cosy hotel. A bit old but that’s part of the charm in the area. Bed was great, carpet could be replaced and the shower was a bit dated but had good pressure.

No status recognition on check-in but there was a welcome card in the room. They had suite available but was not upgraded to that (only 1 level up). They have a 9 hole golf course on-site but the hotel is fairly close to one of the holes. Make sure you don’t rip a slice into reception haha.

A great stay. As platinum got a meeting at the luggage carousel and the bags taken care of onto the shuttle which was apparently just for me and immediately outside the door of the terminal.

Shuttle on demand back to the airport the next morning.

Great spread in the exec lounge between 5 and 8 pm. I think it was.

As a plat, I don’t think I could’ve been treated better.
