Thanks for the insights guys. With the bonus points at the various categories, I assume they’ll only work for the US if Amex’s website says so (e.g. 3x spend on the Green card at restaurants etc.; and 4x spend on the Gold card for supermarkets etc.).

So assume that you can’t use a forwarder’s address like MyUS with Cap one? Their Venture X card sounds really good and I’m keen on getting that once I sort out an ITIN. But looks like address might be a showstopper.

Can you keep doing this every 12 months? Is there no limits or other restrictions that make it a one off? The transfer rates to airlines is so much better on US cards as compared to the AUS ones. Even taking the exchange rate into account, you still gain more points by transferring them across.

Yes, believe you need a US mobile number to set it up.

Does anyone have a free option for receiving verification codes? I used to use TextNow but unfortunately it now seems to be pushing people towards locking in the number for a year at a cost of USD7.99 to unlock viewing of verification codes.
