Does anyone have any idea what QF780 is doing tonight?

Looks like QF648 is now cancelled, causing a roll-on effect for QF655 out of SYD tonight. EDIT: Looks like it's not cancelled after all, and just re-scheduled to a 14.30 departure, still on EBB. It will get into SYD close to 10pm tonight.

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

It looks like EBJ, the aircraft that was originally supposed to operate QF51, has become unserviceable. They've sequestered the aircraft (EBP) that I presume was originally meant to operate QF15 to operate a very delayed QF51 (running 12 hours late), which has also resulted in QF36 being delayed...

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

Thank you for the hard work that you all do! See, my thoughts are when you run into a curfewed airport on the last scheduled sector of the day, the onus then is on the poor ground crew and cabin crew who now have to try to manage turning the plane around in a less than realistic timeframe...

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

I was witness to one of these aggressive turns today in ADL on VA441, which was turned around from an already very late VA434. Thankfully (and in part due to the threat of us getting very close to the SYD curfew), the ground crew and cabin crew got all of us onboard, sat down and ready for...

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

I reckon the QF59 tardiness is probably down to a combination of slot restrictions at SYD as well as the Qantas A330 fleet appearing to be somewhat run down in recent times (and not having very much slack to recover from). For reference, have a look at QF29/30, which has had a straight run of...

    Qantas A330-200 cabin refurbishments

I think this exercise is probably only going to happen on the 8 international config A332s, which are quite a bit younger (circa-2009), and will probably involve replacing the Y seats on those, new seatback screens and some sprucing up of the cabin. I don't think they will do anything else with...

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

I suspect part of the reason may be that they just don't have enough staff on the ground in SYD to be doing tight turns on multiple A380 flights at once, especially if they end up being bunched up due to delays. Not sure what's going on in MEL though - they seem to be short of A330s. It...

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

QF37 delayed by over 5 hours two days in a row now - just departed MEL at about 11pm, 6 hours late. The poor passengers on the return QF38 will also have to cop a 5am departure from SIN now. It was a similar story with yesterday's QF37, also leaving MEL over 5 hours delayed, although QF38...

    Qantas Systematic Cancellation of Flights

You're right of course, but I don't think those routes see the 15-minute intervals that QF are currently scheduling during the peak periods on SYD-MEL. They're usually at least an hour apart (or 45-minutes in peak times). Just to clarify - I'm not defending QF. However, I think their hands...

    Qantas Systematic Cancellation of Flights

They would argue the A330 was never designed (and is not economical) to run on these short one-hour domestic hops and they would probably be right, except that perhaps doesn't take other operational constraints into account. In any case, aren't they running a little short on widebody capacity...

Gold status, got bumped from flight to Bangkok. Colleagues who are Bronze status / not even QFF members are still on flight.

I second the idea to show up to domestic checkin tomorrow earlier and seeing if either the service desk staff, or the check in staff are able to help. They may have more flexibility to reroute you as when I completely missed my connection in MEL a couple of years back, they were not able to find...

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

If true, that's very odd considering the QF15 in the next two days are not even full (in economy anyway). They are chock-a-block in Business however...

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

    1. It was started in 1999. See here. 2. It was SQ36/35 SIN-AMS-ORD-AMS-SIN. 3. Yes, JFK-FRA-SIN has always been SQ25. There was an alternative SQ23 EWR-AMS-SIN service, also on a 747-400 but I don't know if it was daily.

Qantas boosts international capacity, wet lease Finnair aircraft

If anything, hopefully the leased AY A330s will be less worn out than their QF counterparts. I recently flew on EBS, which is one of the more recent A330s in the QF fleet (circa-2013) and it looked very worn out inside: Quite a few seat belt signs were faded (all we saw was a blob of light)...

Qantas boosts international capacity, wet lease Finnair aircraft

It should be credited as if it is a QF metal flight as for all intents and purposes, it is being operated as a QF-coded prime flight.

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

And tomorrow's (Sunday 01 October) QF82, which was supposed to leave at 8.30pm, has been pushed back by more than 12 hours to 9am on Monday morning. Not sure why as the aircraft arrived into Singapore this evening and would have had a more than 24 hour layover.

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Now delayed till tomorrow afternoon at 2:30pm (+23h40m). The onward leg to LHR will leave tomorrow from SIN at 11.25pm, 5 minutes before tomorrow's scheduled QF1 SIN-LHR. This will obviously have an impact on QF2 leaving on Sunday (01 October), which is showing as leaving at 9.00am on Monday...

JQ/3K moving to T4 at SIN in March 2023 :-(

It wasn't bad to be fair - think SATS Premier Lounge in T2. It's no Qantas Singapore Lounge but I wasn't expecting it to be.

JQ/3K moving to T4 at SIN in March 2023 :-(

I just flew on 3K675 SIN-PEN earlier this month and can confirm that QFF Gold/Plat passengers travelling in Economy are entitled to access the Blossom lounge. I asked and was accepted with no questions asked. They only needed to scan my QFF card as well as my 3K boarding pass. This is...

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Today's QF81 from SYD to SIN is copping a 5-hour delay, being re-scheduled to depart at 5pm today (from 12.10pm), and arriving at 11.20pm this evening. Not sure what's going on as OQL is in SYD at the moment. Although this is not reflected yet, this will most certainly have a flow-on effect on...
