Name change on Qantas classic reward ticket

When it happened to us we naively assumed a name correction would be fine - but that's not the case for partner bookings. My wife didn't issue a new birth certificate (no need to actually change the name), so while it was a little hassle, she was still able to obtain a new passport in her...

Name change on Qantas classic reward ticket

Not sure how the birth certificate comes into play with a name change due to marriage - did she go through with an actual name change which issued a new birth certificate? If you can't issue a new passport with the name on the booking, your only option might be to cancel them. For the reward...

Qantas to Introduce Group Boarding and Bag Tracking

From ET's article: Sounds like it'll at least be enforced by design.

    Reward Flight Questions

190k for business, sounds like Classic+ not Classic Rewards. Also, Qatar is very difficult to find reward availability through Qantas.

    Recent SYD-MEL fly-ahead/standby experiences?

I've never been offered it (in the app) in Brisbane, Sydney almost always when flying in the evening, especially on a Friday, and have had it appear a few times out of Melbourne in the afternoon. From my experience I've always been offered an earlier flight if I ask nicely at the lounge...

How early can I enter domestic Qantas lounge?

Yep for $116 it is absolutely not worth it.. Expect salads, a toasted sandwich and basic beer and wine. Airtrain is $55 for two to Eagle Junction if you book online. Spend the remaining $61 at a cafe (Let Minnow is great) and you'll be immensely more satisfied and enjoy a couple hours out of...

How early can I enter domestic Qantas lounge?

Definitely give this a go, I've had pretty good success with this if you're friendly and early.

CR strategy to Europe with infant

Thanks all for the great advice. I had forgotten about Finnair and their new J lounge style seat. Our plan would be to visit Scandinavia / Central Europe so flying into Helsinki and nearby would actually be very convenient. I might look into focussing on flying via SIN or other East Asian...

Best Economy Seat Qantas A330-300 Economy

My guess would be 44B and J. At least on the A333 the 2nd exit row aisles have unlimited legroom. The window seats (A and K) are very cramped though.

CR strategy to Europe with infant

My wife and I are planning on travelling to Europe in Nov-Dec 2025 with an infant (under 1yo). While we'd be happy buying a return PE cash fare, it'd be great to try and get some value out of 400k QF points with SG status. I'm interested in other AFF'ers experiences travelling with infants in...

WARNING : Cancellation of one leg of a status booking, error with Qantas system

This is why it's often useful to book international reward flights as separate one way bookings.

Name change on Qantas classic reward ticket

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but you can't change the name on those code share rewards flight. We made the mistake last year - EK and QR J rewards then a number of paid cash flights. My wife ended up reissuing her passport back into her maiden name (for a fee) so we could travel...

Pets in the Cabin - Coming soon on Virgin Australia

This ABC article contains a bit more information: Virgin plans to welcome small cats and dogs into flight cabins, but what happens if you have an allergy? So 67% of the pet owners said they would fly with pets. I wonder how many of the non-pet owners said they support the change?

Name change on Qantas classic reward ticket

It's possible no-one would notice, but I believe it's a criminal act to fly under someone else's name. https://www.sydneycriminallawyers.com.au/criminal/legislation/criminal-code-act/using-false-identification-information-to-obtain-an-air-passenger-ticket-for-a-constitutional-flight/

Name change on Qantas classic reward ticket

There's a 'name correction' for typos and name changes like marriage etc. which retains the same booking (if the CR is for a QF flight and not a partner redemption). AFAIK 'name changes' where the ticket is now for a new person require it to be split and cancelled, then re-book for the new...

    Is Qantas for real?

I suppose a deeper look into the statistics would be needed. My gut says that for e.g. VA operate about 4x as many flights as Rex for MEL>SYD on a given day, which could mean they have a higher number of flights in windows of bad weather (storms in the afternoon/evening) and have more capacity...

Qantas doesn't care about priority boarding

QF503 BNE to SYD this morning (5:25AM). Long line for priority boarding as usual for weekday flights to Sydney. After priority rows 15-30 were called and then 4-15. Flight was probably only half full at best to be honest.
