Hi all,

My husband and I have 7 hours transit in Brisbane domestic airport later in May.

We're thinking to purchase lounge passes to enter the Qantas club lounge inside the domestic terminal.

I've never been to a lounge before and can't seem to find info on how soon before our flight can we enter the lounge.

Can we enter the lounge that long before our flight?

We will be arriving at 7 30 AM at the international terminal. Our domestic flight is at 2 50 PM. The other option is 8 30 AM but that's just not enough time to clear customs and move terminals.

Edit to say that this is our first time flying internationally so sorry in advande for the silly questions!!

Welcome to AFF,

If you're checked in, bags are already dropped off then you can head in at any time as long as the lounge is open (which it definitely would be).

Don't forget that you can do your bag drop transfer at a desk near the arrival hall at the international terminal then hop on the free transfer bus.

I didn't know there's a bag drop at the international terminal. Thank you so much this is so helpful and so good to know!!!

You need to be aware that the Qantas email to allow purchase of access is only sent 3 - 5 days prior to your flight, and is dependent on time and expected capacity - so may well not eventuate.

Any other purchase methods are likely to be in contravention of the terms of the lounge pass.

Yeah don't stay in the lounge area. That's a ridiculously long amount of time and the Zbne QC (or even J liunge or CL) is just not worth anything close to that. Better to head to the DFO or even Brus city for a few hours - queen st not far from either Central or Roma St after 25min ish train ride but DFO is a great close by suggestion.

Is there an earlier flight? If so ask at the INT-DOM bag check in if you can be moved.

The staff in this area have a lot of discretion about changing flights.

Just be aware with Cross River rail works that there might be changes on Airport train to city.
To be safe, after checking bags through , head to DFO on free terminal transfer bus, look around the shops and have some brunch, then get the terminal bus back to Domestic :)

Sadly we only have two options, our optiond are:

8 30 am Qantas (1 hour after our international flight is scheduled to arrive, so not enough time)

1 50 pm Jetstar (not keen on this as my last 2 jetstar domestic flights got cancelled and delayed)

2 50 pm Qantas (which is what we're on...7.5 hours)

We were hoping to shower and do some work at the lounge but maybe we should look at DFO!!

Definitely give this a go, I've had pretty good success with this if you're friendly and early.

Thank you but sadly my international flight lands at 7 30...there are only 2 flighrs before my 2 50 pm flight...

Either 8 30 am Qantas or 1 50 pm Jestar...

I think buying lounge passes and/or go to DFO might be our best options :(

Sounds like BNE-CBR

Tell more about your trip.

Keep posting here on AFF and keep a presence otherwise ... We have a forum here where lounge invitations can be offered for free by other members. If you meet the criteria (which you can't until 30 days after joining AFF) you may be able to snaffle some.

Ahh! Good to know. I've been a QFF member since before COVID so definitely more than 30 days.

Will have a look before buying passes. Looks like not a lot on offer and those offered always get snatched up so quickly!

Just in case - not all terminal transfer buses but only the ones which display Skygate (every half hour)
