The Qantas call centre now has a different menu

Yes, log in to account works fine, although as I use Awardwallet I get a 'Qantas Frequent Flyer - Unusual Login Activity' email every time Awardwallet updates.

    Accor's Response to COVID-19 Issues?

Sorry to revive old thread, but just checking Accor's latest COVID-19 cancellation waiver policy. Their global website says: Anyone have experience of cancelling Red Hot Rooms under this policy - credit voucher at the same hotel would be fine for me as usually booking hotels I already frequent...

The Qantas call centre now has a different menu

Since QF changed the call centre menu it automatically hangs up on me as soon as I enter my pin and the # key - anyone else having a similar problem, or have a workaround? I have tried updating my PIN but doesn't seem to make a difference.

Qantas to allow free changes, cancellations to Classic Flight Reward bookings to 30 September 2022

Sorry to revive old thread, but is Qantas still allowing penalty-free award cancellations on day of departure? Have upcoming ex-MEL flight and never certain of border restrictions until day of departure. From my reading, VA and QF cash fares are fee-free changes only until the day before...

Amex Travel Credit - covid implication

Looking to change dates or cancel Virgin flights to Melbourne in a fortnight - lockdown will be over but still not keen to travel. Is Amex waiving its $35 change fee or $55 cancellation fees? Otherwise most the credit will be chewed up in fees even if returned. Grateful for some data points.

Full Refund for Classic Reward seats .. or Not?

In the early days of the pandemic when going to cancel a classic reward online it would come up saying cancellation fee (6000) points would be waived; now when I go to cancel it simply says I will get a travel credit for an amount that appears to bears no relations to the taxes - do I need to...

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

Domestically? Possibly only for Senior Executive Services, and the SES Band 3s and agency heads are likely CLs on opups rather than paid J.

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

I can't recall the policy precisely, but there is no choice but to accept the lowest economy fare within a couple of hours of your intended departure time (4 hours?). With Virgin only flying 2 twice per day (and the departure from MEL sometimes scheduled as late at 8pm) QF can charge what they...

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

Anyone know when VA will be increasing its CBR-MEL and CBR-SYD frequencies, now that the ACCC has approved their tie up with Alliance? They have ATRs loaded in the schedule from August onwards (presumably as placeholder for Alliance flights), but I would have thought there was money to be made...

Is it worth trying for Gold?

On an aside to the original question, why aren't Velocity offering any SC earn on the ground options? Qantas has had BP, red energy, woolworths all providing a way a of collecting 10-30 SCs and keeping accounts ticking over and members engaged - to be best of my knowledge, there isn't even any...

    Qantas Lounge access for guests

I wonder if the ambiguity about whether you can bring a guest in or not is due to Oneworld obligations? They say a eligible lounge member may be able to bring a guest - perhaps they are allowing OWS and OWE to bring a guest but not QP members or J pax without status? Would be good to have some...

Update on VA Lounges? [BNE/SYD/MEL/PER/OOL/ADL/CBR now open]

Other thread noted that 30% J award discount lasts until 24 October - perhaps this would the restart date in covid safe states?

VA withdraws all services from Hong Kong

Is Virgin offering Original Routing Credit (points and SC) for people who have booked revenue fares? Apparently my return ticket will be 'automatically cancelled and refunded' as of tomorrow, but no one in the call centre can confirm if ORC will be offered.

VA withdraws all services from Hong Kong

I am travelling on 1 May! 3xJ rewards (2 adults, 1 lap infant) and 1xY paid ticket. This will be impossible to replicate on any other carrier with less than 3 months notice. Would be very interested about ways to escalate this, especially as they would have moved me to Qantas if flying a day...

VA withdraws all services from Hong Kong

What are the 'alternative arrangements' likely to be for those booked on awards? I have 2xJ awards booked for April; I suspect VA will be hoping I take the refund! Would they have to rebook me in paid J? Will they rebook onto direct CX J (as VS did when they cancelled SYD-HKG) or try to push me...

Status credits on flights booked via government agencies

Sorry to revive old thread, but does anyone know the equivalent situation for hotels, booked via the QBT/AOT portal? Will I earn points and/or stay credits if in an Accor/IHG/Hilton property booked though the WoAG portal? I suspect QBT is considered a corporate travel agent and points are earned...

Qatar Airways Lounge in Singapore T1

Any prospect they will allow arrivals access, given the set up of Changi? I have a 9.05am arrival next May in QR J and access would be handy.

    Velocity partnered with Energy Australia

Any idea on what Energy Australia's definition of a new customer is? Can't see anything in the terms and conditions. Received the points before changing to another provider in December 2017; do you think I have to wait out a full year to be considered a new customer?

The American Express Platinum Card - free lounge access

Thanks I will be at the MEL VA lounge.Do you know if they swipe the Amex cards or just check the names - my platinum charge is UK issued and I don't want any issues. Last time I was in Australia they just checked that the names matched and didn't wipe or take down card numbers.

The American Express Platinum Card - free lounge access

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I am a Velocity gold and have an Amex platinum charge - I am able to bring one guest into the lounge using my velocity gold entitlements and a second guest in using my platinum charge card?
