Possible new Intercontinentals in Sydney and Melbourne

Both were rebrands no so long ago, with the Hyatt formerly country comfort while the Voco was the old Watermark

Possible new Intercontinentals in Sydney and Melbourne

Doubt it, would not meet brand standard, most HIX locally are new builds from proinvest. The Salter properties in that sector are largely refugees from Travelodge Rev 2.0, not to be confused with the cookie cutter Travelodge Rev 1.0 from SPHC days like you find at Tulla, Geelong, Darwin...

Are QantasLink going to fly to Biloela, Olympic Dam, Quilpie and Cooma?

BNE would be close already to all Q400

Some Australian Ibis Budget properties now ALL participating

You did well getting a welcome drink when one is not applicable. The Myer Centre car park is handy for the Ibis in town but still a PITA and given the season probably busy. I maxed out my 500pt bonuses a few weeks ago after HKG and two BNE-MEL road trips where the Ibis Budget was handily priced...

China announces visa-free travel for Australians visiting up to 30 days (previously 15 days)

CZ have $550 to BKK in Feb and March, will probably take one of these with 1-3 weeks in China in Feb, great value given they have day flights both ways. I usually max out the 2x23kg baggage, have one bag still in Shenzhen with the Novotel :)

China announces visa-free travel for Australians visiting up to 30 days (previously 15 days)

I did a week in HKG in September, only changes from previous visits were the lack of obvious money (businessmen and expensive cars now a rarity) and the expensive cost of living. The fairwood chain often had big queues by comparison to other outlets. It’s now easier with the removal of the Visa...

China announces visa-free travel for Australians visiting up to 30 days (previously 15 days)

Hong Kong is western by comparison to China, normal cards are commonplace (Visa/Mastercard), the Octopus card is also widely accepted in 7-11s, Maccas as well as for metro etc

Check Accor Plus free night availability

Be aware if you have a stay plus free night in your account your rates for any booking at a hotel will be inflated until you use it, it’s a bug rather than intentional but could be an expensive one. Do a dummy booking without logging in first to see if your affected, room options are also...

Are the days of BigPond Email Account Numbered?

You cannot use the TIO as The Messaging Company is not a member. FWIW they were sold shortly after getting the iiNet business and are now owned by Norwegian Inbox.com.

    Last QantasLink 717 service

Could be around awhile, I hear some crew have been pulled off A220 conversions to be available for 717 service, which seems a retrograde step given A220 flights are running at 50-60% as timetabled
