Would it be possible to make a hotel chain like Ryanair work (something that's affordable and provides good value)

Floorspace is the most important characteristic, but fixed costs in cleaning and front desk etc. Most of the capsule hotels seem to be overpriced on this basis to me, maybe utilisation is lower.

Book the Cook Recommendations (from Australia)

Noting that I suspect SQ use a similar kitchen these days to QF it is interesting.. it's well known QF serves almost identical base meals across multiple classes. Seemingly SQ does not. To be honest more often was the 38 Book the Cook choices ex-SIN.. why can't QF do similar ex-SYD and MEL

    Last QantasLink 717 service

Was a post on airliners that it might be able to operate for the whole month, presumably somewhat cycle dependent.

    Jetstar chaos at Sydney

Definitely a Sydney T2 issue. Virgin is just as bad. Thankfully they will be spending $$ to improve the situation. https://www.sydneyairport.com.au/investors/planning-and-projects/major-overhaul-for-t2-domestic

    Book the Cook

Thought I'd post the absolute massive (now 38 Choices) ex-SIN Book the Cook selection for my upcoming SQ261 SIN-SYD on the 773. Currently selected the Nasi Pedang, though the Lamb Chop or Tenderloin also tempting. Aromatic Barramundi Barramundi fillet, simmered in aromatic tomato sauce, pearl...

    Bangkok Airways

It's a rather unique airline globally in that it owns many of the airports it operates too - Samui Airport, Sukhothai Airport and Trat Airport Which obviously allows them to operate in a fairly monopolistic way. I do like the whole indoor outdoor feel of the USM airport, and the lounges in...

Qantas Status based Lounge Access before Fiji Airways Flights

At least for now award redemption seem to book into mainstream categories. Albeit Jetstar outstations are a case in point. Lounge access is only available these days on Business Max fares, and you can't redeem into that.

Qantas Status based Lounge Access before Fiji Airways Flights

But Qantas also has plenty of codeshares with non-oneworld airlines, including plenty in other alliances. Once you start with different metal and codeshares the rules get complicated quickly.

Thoughts on a Ryanair like airline for Australia?

Tiger was probably Australia's most barebones LCC.. eventually absorbed into Virgin Australia. Jetstar and the original Virgin Blue I push a little higher talon the scale.

So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

Exactly. If you can charge at home/ work then you never go to a dedicated fueling station for 50wks a year. Offset by some slightly longer stops on holiday trips.. but to be honest if you can combine charging with an eating / toilet stop the car is ready to go (typically above 80%) before you are.

    2024 F1 Thread

Herta still needs 9 points for super license. So would need to finish 4th or better in Indy 2025, or also fit in another series. Palau has the points but he's Spanish (and as does Kiwi Scott McLaughlin).. And Mexican O'Ward just qualified in 2023. If Crawford hangs onto 5th in F2 this year...
