Qatar in talks to take up to 20pc stake in Virgin

    1. How do you know that? And 2, QR started flying to Australia in 2009, and in 2009 they had a fleet of 67 aircraft, not really "boutique" airline size.

Jetstar launches Various Routes for CNS/CHC/MCY/AKL/DUD/HZL/SYD/OOL

That's very possible if there was an (unlikely) change in government in QLD. They're focus isn't tourism or supporting QLD businesses. 1719283764 North QLD'ers wanting to go to NZ without going via BNE or SYD. Or the backpacker market looking to go to NZ after travelling up the east coast.

    Jetstar launching Brisbane-Bangkok route

You don't think people in Thailand visit Australia?

NH route now operated by Air Japan

Qantas/Jetconnect is a perfect example. QF flights operated by Jetconnect NZ with crews, paid much less than QF AU crews, operating flights from AKL/CHC/WLG to SYD, BNE, MEL; BNE-LAX; AKL-JFK; BNE-SIN.

NH route now operated by Air Japan

It's still NH, a lot of their 787 flights are operated by Air Japan (flights to LAX, FRA, SYD, SIN, DEL). The confusion is that Air Japan is now a standalone airline as well.

Up to 35,000 Velocity points for switching to AGL Energy

I got onto Velocity via their chat function, the agent confirmed I should have received the points by now so they're going to escalate. Now to see how long this takes!

Up to 35,000 Velocity points for switching to AGL Energy

It’s now been more than 45 days since I switched to AGL, I’ve also received a bill (despite being on quarterly billing) and no points yet. Called today and was fobbed off, told to call Velocity to confirm why the points haven’t been applied and then call AGL back to get them applied if Velocity...

Virgin Australia and Qatar Announce Strategic Partnership

Good question. I reckon the seats might be released, because at the time of flying you'll be Silver. But I'm not 100% sure.

Up to 35,000 Velocity points for switching to AGL Energy

I signed up on April 29, got an email with the Velocity logo in the header, still no points on June 12.

Virgin Australia and Qatar Announce Strategic Partnership

I had the same experience as flyingmachine. You can change your number to VA after you’ve checked in though. I changed mine when I got onboard. Though I should’ve kept it as QR.

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

JetBlue is probably the best example of that. They operate narrowbodies only (E190/A220/A320/A321). The A220 is used on 5-6 hour trans-cons, the A321N is used to UK/Europe from JFK/BOS and to northern South America from JFK.

Virgin Australia and Qatar Announce Strategic Partnership

99% of the time they operate SGN/PNH/PEN/HKT. The ex-CX planes do BKK/HKG/MLE/IST.

Up to 35,000 Velocity points for switching to AGL Energy

I connected over a month ago and have received a bill (even though I’m meant to get them quarterly) and no points yet.

QR could lease VA the ex-VA 777’s they operate.

I'm in QLD and was told I'd get a $200 credit as well.

Qantas adds Brisbane-Manila but suspends Sydney-Shanghai flights

Given the choice of CI, BR or QF to TPE which would you choose? I know for the average punter it doesn't matter, but people who know the products or those that are regular customers wouldn't go near QF.

Qantas adds Brisbane-Manila but suspends Sydney-Shanghai flights

Correct. Unless QF decide to run the 787 those four days to LAX they'll have to ferry an A330 up from SYD.

Up to 35,000 Velocity points for switching to AGL Energy

The QLD Government has just announced this morning that from July 1 everyone will be receiving $1000 off power bills. I still have credit from the last round of funding so with that plus $1000 plus the $200 AGL credit this should work out to be a good decision to switch!
