Not sure.. I've never done that before. You might have to search for "krisflyer upgrade chart" . It's only a 2 hour flight though - personally I wouldn't upgrade a short haul. And if you are transiting and baggage checked through, you still can access the lounge in Singapore Changi airport.

Best value is if you can redeem for business tickets, even if it's business advantage. If you have booked accommodation though, then your dates are highly restricted to that then.

Thank you for this alert as I was able to use the Qantas First Lounge in Singapore earlier this month. Will be in Kuala Lumpur in July so should be able to use MAS Platinum lounge before flying back on MH to Aus. Don't think it's worth routing to SIN, maybe unless Emirates F award seat opens up.

Thanks for the reply! For next Amex cards, which cards are recommended? I guess with the ITIN, if there's a renewal fee, then it'd be best to apply as many cards as possible in the 12 months? And of course if I want to get Chase cards, I need to be mindful of 5/24 rule yeah.
