Check the Hilton Chengdu Chenghua. I just booked the Ambassador Suite for ~$600 AUD total for five nights. It can be had for cheaper - available most of next year. I hope it sticks.

Another vote here for skipping Chicago and doing Yosemite and maybe even San Francisco which is not a bad drive. If it was me, i'd be squeezing in Yellowstone too.

Called last night to make a booking with a stopover. Didn't get the response I had expected so hung up and called back 20 minutes later. The same agent answered the phone and clearly did some research in those 20 minutes, so the booking was made!

I am finding availability for Premium Economy to LAX out of SYD but my home airport is CBR. Velocity won't tag on the flight from CBR to SYD because it only has Economy. Has anyone had success in convincing them to do this? They are trying to charge an extra 7K points for the Economy flight SYD...
