I've felt the sting of the QFF Loyalty Middle Finger

I've sent off an email to Lesley Grant's office as my last point of escalation, so we'll see if anything comes back from there next week. I still have my fingers crossed that everything will come good, the magic wand will be brushed over my account, a shiny new WP card will arrive in the mail...

I've felt the sting of the QFF Loyalty Middle Finger

The information gap in terms of the data I have to calculate my "ongoing value" to Qantas versus what Qantas themselves hold is an interesting one here. Without going into details, I would have expected that the higher up the request chain you go, the more information would be available to...

I've felt the sting of the QFF Loyalty Middle Finger

I'm not sure that my 23 Facebook friends will have that much of an influence, but what's wrong with creating the perception that Qantas will bend their rules for their frequent flyers? Part of my decision to have flown QF these last 10 years came from the way the FF area handled a not...

I've felt the sting of the QFF Loyalty Middle Finger

Thanks to all for your replies! After chilling for a few hours I do realise that my post is a candidate to appear in the next AFF newsletter as "Self-entitled member really puts the W in WP". In reality Qantas' decision here doesn't have too much real world bearing. I won't lose any lounge...

I've felt the sting of the QFF Loyalty Middle Finger

Reached it years ago. So yes, I can still get Admirals Club access if needed. Thanks for reminding me how 'first world problem' I'm being. :)

I've felt the sting of the QFF Loyalty Middle Finger

Not with AA. Domestic F doesn't include lounge access - in the US that only comes with status.

I've felt the sting of the QFF Loyalty Middle Finger

Inbound yes, but internal flights (eg SFO-LAX-AUS) are where the magic shiny card is needed.

I've felt the sting of the QFF Loyalty Middle Finger

Probably not, but assumably QF11/12 to LAX and QF61/62 to NRT are more their liking, even if the latter is only in J. Not my fault they dropped First from QF127 to HKG so I can't book that anymore. :)

I've felt the sting of the QFF Loyalty Middle Finger

It does seem trivial but yes, I do like to partly justify my business expenses in these cases by the personal benefits I can get out the other side. Good question re AA points - maybe time to credit to AA instead?

I've felt the sting of the QFF Loyalty Middle Finger

There's always a use for points - 10k is a domestic flight I don't have to buy when I take my family on holidays.

I've felt the sting of the QFF Loyalty Middle Finger

It's mainly for LAX - I transit through there fairly often on domestic AA flights.

I've felt the sting of the QFF Loyalty Middle Finger

Actually I didn't even consider that. Looks like I'll be about 10000 points worse off by flying as a SG.

I've felt the sting of the QFF Loyalty Middle Finger

On the international legs, not really. Flying domestic in the US, yes it does - mainly in terms of lounge access (Flagship Lounge) and the checkin/boarding process on AA domestic and American Eagle flights. Yes, they have followed the letter of their rules, no dispute there. I'm just...

I've felt the sting of the QFF Loyalty Middle Finger

...and ouch it hurts. I'm a long time QFF (and AFF) member, happily enjoying my WP membership for the last decade on the back of paying cash for QF International First flights. Never quite made Platinum One but have about a 1600 SC annual average over the last 10 years. Never once failed to...

First into Asia & USA - Options?

According to the QF timetable, the A380 is only flying SYD-HKG until 12 April, when it reverts to a 744 until 26 May. As I won't be flying this week, there goes that option. It doesn't look like JL are of much help - they appear only to fly a 763 between SIN and NRT. The SIN-HKG sector is...

First into Asia & USA - Options?

Thanks all for the quick and very helpful responses! The EK flight idea does help thanks - I can't make it part of a one world fare (unless it has QF flight numbers) but at least it'd be an SC earner. Sounded good, but I saw MEL_Traveller's note that I just missed that option. This...

First into Asia & USA - Options?

It's been a long time since I've been on AFF, with my absence tied to a lack of international travel as a result of having a second child.... It appears that quite a lot has changed since I last booked an overseas flight around 18 months ago. I used to book the OneWorld ACIR22 Circle Pacific...

WP Reward Seat Request - Available for First?

It's most certainly possible as a WP. I've done exactly that on several occasions over the last few years, usually for 2 seats. It seems a bit harder to request when the flights are a long way into the future, but we've had good success having seats opened up for flights leaving within the...

    Heads up about program changes

Yes, I stand corrected on my original statement. Date Description Base points Cabin bonus Status bonus Total points Status credits xx FEB 14 QF 012 FIRST xxFEB14 LOS ANGELES/SYDNEY 7,491 7,491 7,491 22,473 270 Under today's changes that flight would have netted me 29,250 points and 270...

    Heads up about program changes

I'd have to go and check now, but from memory my SYD-LAX flights in F earned 30k+ points. I'm willing to stand corrected if that's not the case - just means there's only 3 negative changes for me in tonight's email, not 4.
