Update on Novotel Melbourne Airport hotel. As of 1 January 2025, parking charge has gone from 1st day $30, subsequent days $20 to $40 per day. No Accor discount as with other properties we have stayed at. You can use parking even if you are not in house.

Thanks for sharing both journeys to Noumea @toowongman . We stayed at Hotel Le Lagon in the same category of room in 2019, a very relaxing time and the staff, as you say, were excellent. Delpine was our go to girl! We dined at Marmite et Tire Bouchon as a birthday treat but enjoyed The Stone...

This is a very busy time of year at DPS, many locals on the roads. Traffic last year was gridlocked around the airport ( check out YouTube!) I'd err on the cautious side and at least 2+ hours @ozcolin

Always a fine balance! We did 6 nights at each resort in Koh Samui @goldenhorn as we were a "drop n flop" holiday. First night was a separate booking at Mercure (in lower category room) as the MCT was outside my comfort zone and really thought we would miss our flight to Koh Samui - but...

I like your idea of a night in Singapore either side of your trip @goldenhorn Moving hotels after 3 days for me, is a bit short - you just get the hang of things and time to relocate. YMMV. Am also looking at Hua Hin for July/August.
