Virgin business class Bali flights rip-off

I’m travelling in business class on VA to Melb on 31/12 is there a lounge I can access at DPS, as I want to know how much time before it’s worth getting to the airport?
I believe they’re streamlined outbound immigration now.

But you should allow at least two hours. We checked in for our flight late, one hour before, and by the time we cleared security and immigration the staff were in the main terminal calling for the last passengers (us) on the flight!

There is only one TERRIBLE lounge at DPS for airlines that chose to use it, which isn't VA, I wouldn't be too concerned, last time I was there I walked out within 10 minutes as it's barely an airport lounge (embarrassingly poor food & drinks options).
Better off with the plethora of options downstairs, which is far more enjoyable.

This is a very busy time of year at DPS, many locals on the roads. Traffic last year was gridlocked around the airport ( check out YouTube!) I'd err on the cautious side and at least 2+ hours @ozcolin
On that, given many flights leave for australia late in the evening, and hotel check-out is usually around 1pm, we usually book the Novotel at DPS for the final ‘night’.

The hotel is directly linked to the check-in area with its own security, so no need to battle traffic or queue just to get in. Means you can leave the hotel room at say 830pm for a 10pm, and no sweaty humidity. The hotel has quite nice rooms and a pool, plus a rooftop bar. Prices are usually very reasonable (I think we paid around $70)

Each time we have tried to book for our final day, has been at full capacity- perhaps I leave it too late @MEL_Traveller !
But excellent suggestion.

I don’t get why it is such a cough lounge. Labour is cheap. Good local food is cheap to produce. It would be so easy to make it decent for very minimal cost.

Thanks for all your posts… I breezed to the airport and through immigration, I have two hours to kill… but the restaurant looks ok…I will have an early breakfast 🍳
All the best for 2025 AFF people, happy flying ✈️

Thanks for that we will use this little tip next time. Menu looks pretty good also, looks like a good hotel to just chill at before departure.
