SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

I assume you meant Cristal. Salon is in a different league and only served onboard JL F on ex-Japan routes.
I don't think any airline besides JL have ever had Salon. Delamotte doesn't count šŸ˜‚

Earlier this year I was on LHR-SIN and they only had one bottle of Cristal loaded. Apparently they opened more than the allocated amount on the outbound leg!

Anyone flown out of Nagoya with SQ before, any comments on the airport or nearby/onsite airports to stay at the night before for an early morning checkin?

Did it last week on the 10:25am departure! There are plenty of hotels at the airport (about 6 within walking distance). The closest to the terminal is Centrair Hotel which was quite good, it's also used by quite a few cabin crew. It's literally 2 min walk to the check-in desks.

The best quality option is probably the Four Points by Sheraton (stayed on Bonvoy points on a previous trip) but that involves about an additional 500m walk including some uncovered outside. Other options are stock standard Japanese business hotels.

There is a FamilyMart convenience store right outside the Centrair Hotel entrance, and plenty of restaurant options (maybe 40?) landside in the terminal.

The observation deck is worth a look too, and there's a paid public onsen ($12 or free with priority pass) in the terminal with views of the bay. There's not much to do airside, although I didn't look at the Plaza Premium lounge so can't comment on that.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Oh and how could I forget - Flight of Dreams...

About 5 min walk via covered walkway from Centrair Hotel, one of the prototype Dreamliners is kept in a hangar surrounded by a few restaurants and cafes.

One of them is even on Priority Pass.. mmm free beer.

Definitely worth a look! You can walk around the Flight of Dreams building for free, there are some paid activities in/around the plane, and there's a Boeing store on site (or at least there was a couple of years ago)
