    AA vs. QFF

It's still a long long way in front of QF in terms of burn and cash payment ratios. Earning in Australia is obviously tougher, but there are opportunities to earn 1.5 points per dollar on certain credit cards in certain locations, but it is limited. I wish people would stop beating up the AA...

    Smoke alarm sensitivity

I managed to find some 100ml exactly cans when in the Netherlands earlier this year. Needless to say, I bought many. The tiny little rexona travel ones you can get are useless. These cans are great, just wish i'd bought more (will re-stock later this year when back there). *edit* turns out...

    AA's SYD-LAX flight

The last time I flew QF J long haul was LHR-SIN-MEL, a week before they moved to DXB. The CSM was amazing on the flight from SIN to MEL, and from LHR to SIN was terrible. Unfortunately on the whole, I find QF long haul crew far 'worse than better'. I have a QF long haul J coming up, but have a...

    What are airports missing?

I indulged with a complimentary trim when I was in the VS lounge in JFK last year. It was strange to watch planes whilst having a hair cut, but it was great. Hair cut, quick shower, quick bite to eat, a few of their delicious coughtails, then a little golf cart all the way back to the DL gates ;)...

    AA's SYD-LAX flight

I would happily pay for it over QF. Skybed is outdated and in desperate need of replacement. I love the CX/AA J seat, don't care about the service as much as I do the seat.

You can now purchase Tiger flights with Velocity points

    $0.65 != 0.65 cents. $0.0065 = 0.65 cents :)

How many different airlines have you flown with?

I forgot Freedom Air, just before NZ rolled the A320's into their own livery as Zeal 320. With Impulse, that takes me to 35 (that I can recall, excluding flights I took as a kid with my parents in Europe that I don't recall).

How many different airlines have you flown with?

Oh! Forgot that! Yes, i'm kinda obsessed about the 717. Flew them weekly up until they were absorbed by QF. The Impulse crew looked after me that's for sure ;)

How many different airlines have you flown with?

According to Openflights, 26, but there are many more from my pre-record keeping days including Sky West and Ansett. Openflights says: Aer Lingus, Air Berlin, Air France, Air New Zealand, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Delta, Emirates, Etihad, JetBlue...

TRS claims with a lower AUD = higher prices

Electronic equipment is like a new car. The second you 'drive it off the lot' the value plummets. Simply using a new phone will wipe 30-40% of its value of as a rule.

    Chasing Status: What's your motivation?

I dislike *A and wouldn't ever actually pay to fly SQ. AA is still the frontrunner, even with devaluation.

    business class or first class

I was looking for AU-EU awards in Jan 2017 a few weeks ago (at T-330ish) and there were almost none. I have all kinds of EF alerts setup in the unlikely event that any become available. As a WP I can say the EU awards aren't wide open in F for us (not sure about J). I think QF are just...

    business class or first class

If you're suggesting the OP upgrade, that's a gamble and having no status they're not likely to get any upgrade on MEL-LAX (high demand route).

    USA Trip (Most comfortable aircraft)

You'll arrive into LAX in the morning. If you're connecting on separate tickets, i'd personally allow at least 3 hours between scheduled arrival and estimated departure. Ensure you have travel insurance just in case things go wrong. That said, if you book LAX-SEA on AA, AA treat inbound QF (and...

    Chasing Status: What's your motivation?

I have been guilty of doing status runs, as late as last year (12 flights, 3 days). I'm also very fortunate that I have an employer that sends me to the USA at least once a year for work, meaning I can do it cheaply. This year will be the first year I've retained both WP in VA and QF without a...

Alaska Air to (potentially) purchase Virgin America - impact to VA relationship?

VX loss won't really affect VA at all. The DL deal is working well (at least from my use of it, it's been excellent). VA offer some amazing F deals around the place too, meaning it's relatively easy to fly where you need to go in a premium cabin without status runs. DL F is actually damn good...

    Double SC offer

I'd say the phone person really had no clue. I have all of the above and had no offer, but i'm about to re-qual for WP anyway (6 months into my year). Keeping WP is never an issue when it's only 800 a year :)

Do you get a FREE airport parking spot if you have a Tesla?

No. They are simply putting chargers in at Valet.
