Don't know who would do it though.
A tiger flight from BNE-SYD is 10,000 Velocity points. And that's without seat selection, a snack, included luggage etc.
A VA flight from BNE-SYD is 10,100 Velocity points, you have all of the above options for free plus you have more flexibly in terms of departure times and less risk of delay. If you have status, you're missing out on all those benefits too.
Maybe someone who signed up for Velocity at BP and doesn't really understand?
Or just someone who "doesn't know better"?

With Velocity can get redeem points for nearly every airline in the World.
Any Seat, Any Airline. Your response suggests you've never heard of it.Umm, ok....
Token gesture from VA - Twas a bit hard so lets convert at 1 point to $0.65 and see how that goes...
$0.65 != 0.65 cents.I was thinking that too but I referenced the amount direct from Ausbt article.
"The scheme sees each Velocity point valued at an equivalent of 0.65 cents, and is intended to offer an additional way for Virgin's frequent flyers to burn their points"
The examples are bit over the shop really...
