The AMEX Explorer still represents decent value even after the recent devaluation and they are currently running a good promotion for referrals (60k points each). The $400 travel credit pretty much covers the annual fee of the card so you are essentially not paying anything to use the card...

I was around 8 months out when I first emailed them to allocate seats. Emailed them again a couple of weeks back after my flight was changed. Both times the responses were pretty quick and I think the change was reflected in the QF app after a few hours or so.

My flight to Okinawa is in November and they changed my SYD-PVG leg to the B787 from A330 so I emailed them again to change my seats with the 081- ticket number. Response was within the hour and seats changed without fuss. I hope the actual travel come November will be as smooth without too...

Yep, 6 days backlog for me too after I rang them up yesterday.

It seems like there has been an aircraft change for my November flight from SYD to PVG. It is now showing as a B787-9 from the usual A330.

Yes I thought you would have been entitled to the Qantas Business at least. Was thinking of having a shower at the SkyTeam Lounge initially, think I'll scrap that idea now. Hopefully the lounge in PVG is in better shape.

Not good to hear, was hoping it was decent at a minimum as I heard some good things about it. Was actually also hoping to see a new review about the 2-2-2 business config as that will be the flight I'm on to PVG.
