    American Express AU to Aeroplan?

Yeah looks good Very minor difference, but Amex only lets you transfer in 3 point increments to KF, so you would actually transfer 342984 points but is the same number you had (114328). Something to keep in mind if ever did end up 1 point short somehow. But yep I match the rest of your maths...

    American Express AU to Aeroplan?

Like @N0mad said, if you really want those seats, these are the exact steps: Calc out the max KF points you can get from your Amex points Work out the exact balance you would need to transfer from VFF to KF at 1.55:1 Buy those points from Velocity, taking into account the current bonus Link...

Qatar Airways returns to Canberra in December 2025

Using the same flight numbers as the ADL flights, so almost certainly they are being chopped

    Classic Reward and Flow Forwarding

Not quite as good as a different PNR, but had a Y classic rewards itinerary MNL-SYD-MEL-HBA and at T1 Int -Dom, asked the question and it was no problem to put us on the direct SYD-HBA, saved us about 6 hours I think! Though this was a few years ago...

Credit Card Offers Amex Business Gold Plus Card: 150,000 bonus Amex points (expires 11/2/25)

We currently have the Business Plat, and run a bit of money through Google and Meta for advertising so this sounds good. However they cap the bonus points and 1.5 points per $1 to 200,000 Amex points per annum, after that it drops to 1 point per $1 for all spend, so that makes it a little...

Hobart airport virtual curfew - 10pm

Which quote? Pretty clear from the article the plane had to turn around because it was running late and would arrive past 10pm

Hobart airport virtual curfew - 10pm

The extract I got from the AIP sup, above, says that the runway is closed. In the document there are other stages where the runway is shortened (while they do the extremities at each end), but if it is closed there is no way someone can land? Hence the turn around, and effective mislabelling as...

Hobart airport virtual curfew - 10pm

Thanks for pointing out the AIP Sup, found the link: https://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/current/sup/s24-h161.pdf Extract from part of it: STAGE 3B 6.1 Stage 3B works include a pavement overlay of the central portion of RWY12/30. 6.2 This stage will be in operation nightly, Sunday to...

Hobart airport virtual curfew - 10pm

They are removing and replacing a piece of the runway every night. So they would need to not start at all for it to even be possible for someone to land. With the result of not opening on time in the morning being disaster, and the amount of work to get done each night, if I was the contractor...

Hobart airport virtual curfew - 10pm

Had a couple of run ins with it in the last few weeks: Some family was enroute back from NZ 2 weeks ago and the last QF MEL-HBA was cancelled while they were on the first leg, the plane scheduled wasn't going to be able to leave on time. We were on the ~6am QF to MEL on Friday morning, and...

    Emirates Delays/Cancellations

Yeah good counter point, didnt notice that Only thing I can see is that those two took off prior to midnight, where EK413 took off after midnight, perhaps tighter restrictions? I am no expert though so could be other reasons!

    Emirates Delays/Cancellations

My guess is they got dispensation to go late but could only take off to the south over water, which looks like would have had some tailwind, so couldn’t be at full weight So had to just get fuel on for MEL where then they could fully load up

    Multiple Amex Business Cards

Late response, but yep we (until very recently) had the Plat Business Charge and Qantas Business. Original reason was we got the QF card, then realised the power of the MR points, so got the Plat (sans any SUB) It was handy with a few bonus ploys we could utilise on both cards (e.g. spending...

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

I’ll tell you in a few weeks! Just approved for US personal this morning from Aus Biz via GT. Nothing I have read tells me that it’s not possible to transfer the MR points and they are the same type of 'Point' as earned on the personal cards Not sure about between AU accounts, only have...
