Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Sector can mean different things to different people. In this case, it means the total distance of the next series of flights until you next have a break of more than 24 hours or switch to a new ticket. So LHR-CDG-BGF in Y/J will count the mileage from LHR-BGF and charge at the highest class of...

    Citibank Luxury Transfer Service

I used this. A regular Uber to the airport costs about $60 so I booked an Uber Premier and it was about $130. I got the $100 back a few weeks later. I couldn't spot any real difference between the regular car and a Premier car, but I got a $60 ride for $30. I guess that eats slightly into the...

Why would you do that? You would pay a fee of 5000 (?) points per amendment per passenger.

Correct - and this is such a small flight that it might be worth having a "land sector" and paying revenue. Alternatively route back through LHR with BA or MAD with IB.

Who can say? But I’m not aware of withdrawn routes ever coming back for saver awards.

Which routes? The MEL ones have stopped being released and SYD disappeared some time ago.

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

I managed to cancel three KrisFlyer bookings without penalty when ET changed the flight times to arrive five minutes sooner. When I need to cancel a trip I hold off until the last minute in the hope that a schedule change will let me do it free of charge. I currently have 318,000 Qantas points...

Citi Ready Credit - 70k Velocity points with $500 balance transfer

No - the cost is the $199 fee plus the interest. But you will only pay interest on the full $5,000 for a couple of days because you're going to repay most of it instantly, and then interest on the residual amount ($50?) until the points come through. Then you repay the balance and close the account.

Citi Ready Credit - 70k Velocity points with $500 balance transfer

Citi are notoriously difficult with their acceptances. I had previously churned Citi cards and a Citi Ready Credit type thing. I got knocked back the next time for both a Ready Credit and for two credit cards (ove Velocity card through Citi and one proprietary Citi card). I waited over a year...

That’s good. My wife flew with SQ in F and the air conditioner above her seat burst, leaving her quite wet. She was offered a towel.

Article: How I Make Qantas Reward Availability Work for Me

I think it's misleading to look at the value of domestic J awards unless you would have been willing to pay the cash price. QF J tix are exorbitant and like others here, I wouldn't even look at QF for domestic travel. I'd be comparing VA and coughstar for - both in Y - for BFOD. So when I look at...

What time of day does SQ release the bulk of their available rewards?

Suites is really just the same as F except they try to shut you in a cupboard.

Just trying to puzzle out the problem - and this is a long shot - was the SYD-HND booked before the KUL-SIN and SIN-SYD?

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

That’s fair enough. S as far as I can tell, F Saver Awards to/from Australia have been discontinued. There’s no formal hand luggage storage in the Private Room but I have had them look after bags before (in the old version of TPR). It would take a very committed thief to buy an F ticket in...

But this one starts in KUL, so you should be able to go in and out of Australia to your heart’s delight, so long as you don’t transit again in Malaysia.

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Agreed. It’s really just a waiting room with not particularly comfortable seating and zero atmosphere. The food is nice but quickly eaten. I would head out into the city if I had a six hour layover.

The Master SQ Guide (Krisflyer, Waitlists & Waitlists Clearing)

I’m just seeing all new releases on Advantage only out of both SYD and MEL. Even the moment they are released.

Am I right in thinking that SQ no longer releases Saver F awards from Australia?
