A Boyhood Dream Fulfilled: Space-Geek Tour of the USA

I never realised he was elected 4 times! You visited a number of spots in DC that I never knew about or got to (MLK and FDR memorials). Excellent tour. I loved that show, Still have it on DVDs :) . When I was in DC - a while ago - I went on one of the sides of the White House. Street...

Jeju Air Flight 2216 Crashes in South Korea

The Juan Browne video posted by JohnM (post #134) discusses the electrical system in modest detail quoting from the gent who maintains the 737 technical website which I understand is pretty authoritative.

    The view from my "office"

I loath places where this happens - especially where a fee to enter is already charged. I can understand if flash may not be welcome with delicate parchments, but in most cases I think its merely to encourage purchase of cards etc.

Article: Are Ground Handlers Gaming Baggage Delivery KPIs?

As it happens, I noticed this on a couple of flights in my recent RTW; they were large airports (one from memory was DFW) . Just 2-4 bags come out, then nothing. Maybe another couple a minute later. I wondered - how does that happen, thinking of delivery by carriages, per photo above? Only...

    What cheeses me off

Abt GBP90 for ordinary seats, I think GBP1,000 for the best. Mine, at the end corner with clear view GBP140.

    What cheeses me off

WCMO is planning a visit to Edinburgh without realising its peak season. Ibis prices A$600/night and up! D'Oh! Its tattoo time. So I bought a ticket, good seat and that Ibis downtown for 2 nights.

Jeju Air Flight 2216 Crashes in South Korea

It was more of a general question. With FDRs, are you able to access the data without special codes or tech? And if you did, say erase some data, would the activity or erasure be evident (other than an absence of data)?

Jeju Air Flight 2216 Crashes in South Korea

General question. Do FDRs have any protections against tampering - such as a code to access the 'drive'. And if it was tampered with, would that be a 'recorded event' or at least visible that something happened after the crash?

    What cheeses me off

We've had a very pleasant week of temps between 25 and abt 29 degrees. Of course the local BOM issued an 'Heatwave warning'. Even the media questioned why. 'Cos its above average and some people will find it uncomfortable' or words to that effect.

Best Frequent Flyer Phone + Mobile Phone Plan option?

Absent any direct partnerships, if you are looking for a phone for 'frequent flyers', I would say pick an iPhone, due to the better (I believe) ecosystem of apps - the superlative Flighty, plus Apple Airtags (better coverage than new, Android version). I'm sure Android users will disagree, but...

When Do Suite Night Upgrades Get Deposited?

I think you've been dealing with the Accor program for longer than me, and I don't wish to be argumentative, but that's still not what the web site says, is it? Web site says: * Get 2 SNUs by earning 14,000 stps and getting to Plat. * Get 1 SNU for every 4,000 stps after that.

When Do Suite Night Upgrades Get Deposited?

That's not what the Accor web site appears to say: Of course, unlike what they say, you can also reach Plat via gifted nights (Accor+ sub). But I get what @glasszon says that I have to earn Plat first (14,000 sps), not be gifted it. I'll just have to be happy with the 2 freebies.
