I have to admit that I never seen so many native flowers before. My wife ,and her were assiduous in tracking them down.

EY J Singapore to Europe just over $3,000 return

No worries. The TOTAL fare for two people was S$6,473. Being a cheapskate I jumped at it. The best I could see for SQ around the same dates was S$8,296. And that was a non-cancellable fare and was just Sin/Fra/Sin. Turkish Airlines could be booked for a few hundred dollars cheaper than EY but...

EY J Singapore to Europe just over $3,000 return

We have now booked this trip. It appears that the few hundred dollars reduction was possibly part of a Black Friday promotion. We fly Singapore-Frankfurt on 22/5 and then will return from Paris on 20/6. This cost S$6,473 for two. I could have saved about $120 by accepting a slightly lower...

I did forget to mention that to her credit our guest was very conscientious about paying her fair share. We alternated in paying for fuel and split accommodation costs 3 ways. She would also take her turn in paying for meals and entrance fees.

EY J Singapore to Europe just over $3,000 return

Etihad prices in J ex Singapore have drifted back down a bit today. You can get Sin - Fra or Sin - CDG return in May/June for just under S$6,500 for two. Interestingly, for us, you can do a multi city routing arriving Frankfurt and departing Paris for basically the same price. That would suit...

Master List: 2024 Black Friday & Cyber Travel Deals

The CX Black Friday deal turned out to be a truly magnificent $100 off any flight. Exchange rate variations have a bigger effect than that. Why did they even bother?

There was also some nice scenery Looking towards Perth CBD - with Perth Airport to the right And as the sun slowly set in the west - over Rottnest and Fremantle - she flew home. As far as I can tell she had a great time here and especially enjoyed the birds and flowers.

OK - just to finish this off. After coming back to Perth at lot off what she saw was not different than lots of other people have previously covered so I will not bother posting those few photos. However, my wife took her for a walk in the National Park near Lesmurdie Falls on the edge of the...

Cape Leeuwin lighthouse and lightkeepers cottages. There is a very interesting museum using these cottages. Again, 95% of my photos around here have disappeared. I am now seriously thinking about buying a new camera for my trips as the loss of photos off the phone is very annoying. I suspected...

We jumped all round the place for the next few days so there is no real 'theme' in the coming photos. The 'Chick on a Stick' in Wilyabrup. The cause of much angst when it was erected...

    Australian Cricket Season 2024-2025

Some interesting batting averages in this piece. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-11-24/cricket-michael-vaughan-australia-batting-struggles/104641250 I agree that Bancroft has no case for selection this year. But he previously had 2 fantastic seasons and was never considered even though both...

    Australian Cricket Season 2024-2025

There does seem to be a drift back to the old days of it 'being harder to get out of the Test team rather than get in'.
