Is there a general rule of thumb in terms of avoiding flights that are likely to be cancelled SYD-MEL? And is seat availability 24 hours’ prior a good indicator of the flight being earmarked for cancellation, especially flights departing on the quarter hour?

I called on Sunday morning (9am) and spoke to an Australian CSR who was more than happy to transfer the points. I said I wanted them merged for ease of management and he said "you'll also get a better points earn".

My account came linked to my Ascent so the $400 appeared on the Ascent. I've since delinked, but the $400 credit has remained on the Ascent.

Update: The back office team have credited the points for Jan but as this was done by them manually, the 20k referral bonus was not applied. Presumably this referral is lost in the system somewhere, together with the points that should have accrued with my purchases for Jan.

Here's my data point. Have Edge. Applied for explorer. Accounts were linked by default and subsequently by request. Points showing up in both Gateway and Ascent now but $1,500 has not been spent. Will report back on 110k points after threshold has been met. Getting ahead of myself but...
