Melbourne lounge at the moment is a bit of a joke. 15-20 mins to get service after you order and the only 'real' food is a terrible dry sanga, not sure why they can't operate the same as Sydney, walk up service (which actually seemed to need less staff) and slightly better sandwiches.

Yea even from Melbourne I can't see any chance of getting the 800 to keep status. I've already had to cancel 2 flights because of outbreaks and border closures.

Well I've got half a million points to blow - I guess I'll be making 2-3 interstate weekends away in late Dec/Jan and hope that the lounges and inflight service gets a bit better by then...

Thanks Jase - any idea how maintaining works now? I need just over 300 SCs to requal at this stage if by some miracle I attain those before Feb will I be Plat to 2023 or is there no point accumulating more SCs until after Feb 2021. I've got plenty of points to burn, assuming Virgin still exists...

I didn't get an email - I went from Gold to Plat in Feb and have a review date of Feb 09 2021 - does this mean I'll actually get Plat until Feb 2022?

I just got upgraded while 13 SCs short but with all 8 legs which is grea because the 14 SCs and, more importantly, the 1 leg of our return flight will count to renewal. :)

I have 2 sectors booked in just over a week and several more domestic and international flights booked over the next 6-8 months. I'm really only asking to get the gold status before Flight #1 next week as I'll technically be gold after that flight anyway. Why would you be pissed off? o_0
