When are you travelling? Perhaps a credit card charge back (after you've already flown) is an option. It might be worth calling your bank to see if there's a time limit to this.

It's not an OWA but a quick one you can use Qantas points for is the TLV to London leg. QF partners with El Al who flies that route, tends to have good availability and has very low $ charges on top of the points, even in business.

Yeah it took me a good 40 mins on the call to get it sorted. Mostly because my (very nice) agent had to herself go on hold with an internal team to get it actioned. Based purely on accent my agent seemed to be in MNL and did a good job, even if it took a bit of time.

Update on this: after calling I was able to have the rest refunded over the phone. Interestingly, the agent initially told me that only one half was refunded because I was only charged half, suggesting that whatever glitch prompted the half refund was also whatever she saw on her screen. But no...

It seems possible but I wouldn't risk a 2-booking 2 hour connection, especially considering that if you miss the connection, you're stuck trying to get to Bangkok at your own expense. That's not going to be cheap. If you're already having to buy two tickets you may as well look at other airline...
