Which Star alliance lounge in TPE?

I visited both earlier this year at around 2pm. I didn't mind the EVA Air lounge but the Singapore Airlines was better. It was empty once the SQ flight around that time left! Neither were crowded mid-afternoon and both had pretty good food and I rated the ice cream in the EVA Air lounge. Why...

Credit Card Offers Westpac Altitude Black Offers for Bonus Qantas, Velocity & Altitude Points

This thread hasn't been updated for quite a while, and I couldn't find another recent thread about the Westpac Altitude Black card offers, so thought I'd bring it back to life. Westpac currently has 120K points offers on its Altitude Qantas Black and Altitude Velocity Black cards. You get...

The Citi Rewards credit card has a limited-time offer on it for 100,000 bonus Flybuys points. That's worth $500 at Coles or 50,000 Velocity points (I would be taking the latter!). You need to spend $5,000 within 3 months of approval. The annual fee on this card is $199...

Credit Card Offers Bankwest Qantas World: 100,000 bonus Qantas Points (min. spend $35K)

The Bankwest Qantas Platinum card (which I have) has had a 50K Qantas points sign-up bonus running for the past 3 years or so. Finally, the World card has an offer too of 100K Qantas points. This offer requires a bit of commitment though. You would need to spend $35,000 (not a typo!) within the...

How to book Velocity Amex free flight?

With the changes to Virgin Australia airfare structures recently, I assume these free flights still book as Economy Choice fares?

Etihad announces 10 new routes on 25/11/24

Quite a few A321LR routes in there to "secondary" destinations in Asia that probably lack demand to support daily wide-body flights. Good to see the A321LR being used as it's designed and resulting in actual new routes! As a side note, there were quite a few red herrings in the Etihad teaser...

There is (for example) F available on CDG-AUH when booking within 30 days. Currently, no.

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

NZ AKL-LGW via YVR or PER could actually make sense. YVR probably a bit more so.

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

Unless they codeshare on each other's flights? 🤷‍♂️ But I take your point. Not sure there's a more logical stopover point, unless they return to going via the USA (which some people don't like due to the lack of international transits there).

Velocity members can now only access Etihad J/F reward seats 30 days out

Not sure how long Aeroplan members were unable to book EY rewards, but I just wanted to mention that EY J/F awards are currently showing on Air Canada's website for close-in bookings again.

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

Air NZ just received new slots at LGW (after being unsuccessful applying for new ones at LHR). They've been a bit cagey on what, if anything, they plan to do with those slots. But my guess would be a AKL-SIN-LGW service.

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

I don't think Air New Zealand would be able to make this work. For starters, AKL-LHR is even further than SYD-LHR which is already marginal. But secondly, and most importantly, there isn't enough premium demand to/from AKL for NZ to be able to sustain the high yields they would need to make...

Emirates Cancels Singapore to Melbourne Flights from 30/3/25

EY J Singapore to Europe just over $3,000 return

You would need to select the flights you want upfront at the time of booking, choosing a longer connection in Istanbul. You may need to use the Turkish website's multi-city function for a stopover of more than 24 hours, or to be honest, it's probably easiest if you just go to a travel agent for...
