EY J Singapore to Europe just over $3,000 return

Sorry if off the main topic, but what are some options these days to get to SE asia (positioning flights?) these days in J. I have always seen there are better J deals to Europe ex-BKK/MNL/etc rather than ex-Australia, but never found a great way to get to these to start.
Any advice appreciated

It may seem like blasphemy, but daytime or early evening flights in economy (aisle) are not that onerous.

MH has 9am'ish options to MEL and SYD, often awards are available.

Just beware on EY too that they do wet lease Vamos aircraft on some routes and I’ve seen mention of EY using the Vamos aircraft on AUH-MXP and AUH-FCO next year and they have used them to CGK and MNL previously

I've looked at Turkish Business Class either Singapore to Madrid or even Melbourne to London. They offer a free 2 night hotel in Istanbul if your Istanbul stopover is more than 22 hours (you would need a visa = $100).

I can not work out the process to get the stopover and their support are clueless what I'm asking. You search the flights and the long Istanbul wait times ones have the 'Stopover' label on them. So I want to know do I book the flight as if I'm going straight through, select to have the stopover, then THEY alter the flight out from Istanbul? Or do I have to make two bookings either side of Istanbul allowing time for the free stopover, then claim for it? Or they have a search option for stopover, but that makes no mention of the free hotel.

That's the first problem. Then even for a normal BC flight Mel to LHR, they claim to have x seats left when you search, but none when it comes to pay. Or the leg from Mel to Singapore (or Bangkok) is Economy.

You would need to select the flights you want upfront at the time of booking, choosing a longer connection in Istanbul. You may need to use the Turkish website's multi-city function for a stopover of more than 24 hours, or to be honest, it's probably easiest if you just go to a travel agent for this.
