TravelPass with DSC offer (No Longer Offerred)

Thanks this is useful. I still haven’t decided whether I will use this to fly back from DRW to PER or save it and put it towards a fare which will earn more SCs later. If only I had a crystal ball. A trip to Nouméa with double SCs would just about keep my platinum until September 2023.

TravelPass with DSC offer (No Longer Offerred)

Anyone have any experience on how long these take to arrive? Thanks to this forum I knew to ask for a travel pass with double credits when I cancelled some bookings yesterday. The actual flight had already been cancelled by QF and I had booked flex for upgrade and SC reasons so they were...

    What's your favourite aircraft type?

For once we are in complete agreement. Loved the first class apartments on EY A380s. But I will never forget sitting in 1A on a LATAM A350 as we glided almost silently descending over the massive city of São Paolo at night.

Refunds - need to call again after 8 weeks

I cancelled some flights on 10 February because of the brief WA lockdown. At the time I was told the refund would take 8-10 weeks. I wasn't happy as this was a business class fare and I was entitled to a full refund regardless of COVID or any other circumstances. But I swallowed my objections...

Will you vaccinate with Conoravirus vaccine when one is available?

Allow me to rephrase the question for the sake of clarity. Do you prefer: (A) the world as it was on 15 December 2019; or (B) the world as it is on 15 December 2020?

No Spirits (in J) Masquerading as COVID? [Back from Apr 2022]

Funny how they put so much pressure on the states to reopen their borders but now all the borders have reopened they are still using COVID19 as an excuse for lower service standards. Flying PER-BNE return in J over the weekend so I will report back on that experience. Of course I already know it...

Qantas petition to open state borders

Mask wearing should be compulsory on all flights.

Qantas petition to open state borders

Petitions are worse than useless but if signing it makes you feel like you've done something, knock yourself out. I am feeling the travel restrictions as much as anyone, I had a lot of travel planned this year. My boyfriend is stuck in Santiago, Chile, my best friend is in Sydney & my other...

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

The true, long term cost of a business class seat is not the hardware and installation cost but the space it takes up in the aircraft. A really good recliner could take up as much space as a well designed suite. Or more!

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

If becoming an LCC was the answer why didn't Tiger do better?

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

"The best parts of the Virgin Blue culture". That is an oxymoron. The Virgin Blue culture was grotesque. Fun was used as an excuse for lack of service. I certainly won't fly Virgin 2.0 if it returns to those roots.

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Maybe we could have a travel bubble for all states except NSW & Victoria, together with NZ and whichever South Pacific nations agree to join.

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Belgium, Italy and Spain didn't have much warning. It now seems COVID19 had already spread to Belgium and France even before the Wuhan outbreak became public knowledge. Some strains of the virus found in France are older than the strains spread from Wuhan. The UK and the US did have warning...

Fly Well. New QF Covid procedures

I also want air travel to recommence as soon as possible. Like most on this forum my lifestyle has been annihilated by the pandemic. I have already missed two planned trips to Nouméa (one for work and one for leisure), a work trip to NZ, a work trip to Paris and a leisure trip to Chile. I can't...

Fly Well. New QF Covid procedures

As Qantas will be filling every seat but not making masks compulsory it will be simply unsafe to fly economy on an A33X and unsafe to fly in any class on a B738. I don't even want to think about smaller aircraft,

Where would you be now ... ?

Thanks and yes I have driven up to Hienghène and been diving there. The east coast is beautiful - more lush, wet tropical rainforest. And not as many sharks as the east coast lagoon! I had lunch at the Sheraton in Bourail on the recommendation of friends and then on to Koné and across. Arrived...

    Hydroxychloroquine - What Goes On?

This is getting tedious. Yet another study shows hydroxychloroquine doesn't work against Covid-19 I suppose there will be some limitation or flaw or caveat in relation to this study which means it can be set aside as well.
