The cash premium for Y+ is large and the reduction in points to upgrade is not proportionate. So unless they really want to pay to Y+ or they know it tilts the upgrade lottery...

    That looks like you have 1 hour 45 minutes. Should be heaps of time. Also according to FlightRadar24, QF881 is invariably late, sometimes very late. I can't find any data for QF1588, are you sure the flight number is correct?

    Abu Dhabi is a little more conservative than Dubai but not as conservative as Doha. You can wear shorts, but if you try to visit a mosque in shorts you will have to cover up with a robe. The men's robes are white, then women's are black, so the women suffer more in the heat.

    I forgot that rule. And no there is no chance of Y+ on either flight unless other PAX move from Y+ to J.

    Missed out the class you are trying to upgrade to so I asked the upgrade fairy about both. For QF93 if you're looking for J you have almost no chance. F would be a lottery, about 50/50 atm. So far QF94 is better, about a 33% chance for J and 75% for F and of course status will help you with either.

    If you are seeking an upgrade I can be more helpful if you provide more information (generally from class and fare basis to class and QFF status (although I know that in this instance you are WP)).

    What people are advocating as "the proper way" is using 2 gate agents to process the priority queue initially. Then when the premium queue subsides the second switches to exclusively process the economy queue. The first gate agent continues to be available to process priority PAX but calls PAX...

    Mixed results for QF589 BNE-PER today. All set up properly and appropriate announcements made. But then the second gate agent decided to start processing the economy queue at the same time as the premium queue.

    To be fair to the OP if they find this a particularly annoying feature of QFF they may find the rolling 12 month status credit system used by Velocity more appealing. So their threat to switch to VA may not be as silly as it evidently sounded to some.

    The argument is't over what pilots will be paid, it's over maximum working hours and rest times. Safety issues we should all be concerned about. If the project can't meet current safety standards perhaps it shouldn't go ahead?
