just to close this off - we ended up using USPS. 40lbs (18kg) for USD$250 including insurance. now to see if it shows up in 10 days.

wondering if anyone has done it, specifically from USA back to Australia. Turns out we packed rather poorly, and have accumulated even more, so need to send home a suitcase (or a box) whilst we continue on the holiday. any suggestions of companies you used that were economical (i.e. cheap)...

But possible to book as 2 separate legs and save some miles? Or get a friendly agent who will do it at a lower rate?
