in J i'd be more interested in arrival time into LHR. ie i don't reckon it's a massive difference. try and go for the bulkhead/ mini cabin in whichever aircraft you end up in.

hi all, just bumping this as travelling to Imerovigli for a wedding next June, with a 9 month old. We'll either be coming from SYD or somewhere in the USA. How did you go about figuring out which airlines fly direct instead of via ATH? I've only found Thomas Cook so far. Cheers

and it's still 115k to europe using Qatar or QF, but 160k if using Etihad? (one way p.p in F)

i have the latest offer as 1.72c USD including taxes. is that right?

sorry - what i meant was, using alaska miles, can you book on CX on immediate release of award seats, or can you only book up to 330 days in advance? (in a similar vein to AA, who can only access QF awards at 330 days, whereas QF FF'ers can get access immediately)

not sure about current process, but i would always do the waitlist first, as in the past (> 12 months ago) you couldn't WL if you didn't have sufficient points.

thanks for the help. decided to take the SQ points as I value them more than the SC on VA. Managed to get into the lounge on my VA gold as the service portion so not all was lost.
