    Credit card options for retirees

Wouldn't they look at your total financial business with the bank? You investments with the bank would be collateral?

    Credit card options for retirees

When you say "retiree", do you mean left work? I am a retiree (giveaway here but still working, and flying regularly), and have a credit card. Anyway, if you already have a credit card, retire and revert to superannuation, will the CC company question that?

    The view from my "office"

There's a big lump of metal at the bottom, the engine. It's "ballast". In the early days sailing ships had to take on a load of stones to stop them turning on the return journey when they would have been lightly loaded. They then dumped it at their arrival port.

    IHG Hotels that recognise status

Thanks for the advice. I will keep an eye on it but I think it is a festival weekend in Madrid so I don't have much hope.

    IHG Hotels that recognise status

You are so lucky! I have booked Crowne Plaza at Madrid Airport in May 2025 and they wanted 33,333 points per night average. I have often found that you pay the same points for any room, so go for the best!

My 250K was worth $1200 on a points plus pay on QF/EK flights. I could have spent 50K as a reward booking on the same trip through JFK at some random time.

    The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

In New Zealand you can use either a paper card or electronic. In WLG if electronic you need to present your passport for scanning to an Immigration officer. You still need to show the arrival card if you use one. Now in WLG you have three hurdles, electronic scan, immigration and customs...

    The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

I hear BNE flights from NZ are trialing electronic arrival card. Would that make it easier? I have done a day trip to SYD from WLG with no troubles, but that's coming into NZ and it was with a full business day in Sydney so enter Australia.

Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

I am rarely in the F lounges in the morning, but will be in June 2025. Our previous experience was good. Even though my wife is vegetarian and doesn't eat whole eggs, she was served a good breakfast.

Your forgetting Bucks Fizz (Mimosa), which is a typical breakfast accompaniment, or at least early morning. I have seen it served on early morning international flights.

    The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

WLG is my home port so would never need an international transfer. It is possible to fly in in the afternoon from SYD and go back on the same flight, but I have never noticed an international transfer desk on arrival. You could also go to Brisbane, but not Melbourne or Fiji as those leave...

Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

As a starter I like the QF SYD F lounge then EK SYD lounge for dessert if my flight leaves from the 50s and 60s gates, though not often. The desserts in the EK SYD lounge are very good though the hot dishes, with a good selection, are a bit tired after being left out for a while. At least the...

New Adelaide Qantas Club & Business Lounge

Still in Qantas Int F SYD. I once asked for the little dishes to take a few and the Qantas staff said take a paper coffee cup and fill it with Jaffas to nibble on your flight, which I did, and have done ever since.

Yup, just checked, but any liquids etc meet the same requirements as any other international departure.

    The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

I imagine you will need to go through International transfer, which is an X-ray and body scan. You can give immigration a miss. WLG doesn't seem to have international transfer so it is security and immigration then back again but I could be wrong.
