VFF, I was wondering why the access to the soon to be opened Etihad lounge in Sydney will be restricted to only passengers flying to AUH? Isn't that the same with Delta and Virgin? Delta are part of Skyteam and Virgin are not in any alliance yet you can earn Virgin status credits flying Delta. If they can do it why can't QF & EK?

The rates you see on the news or in the paper are the interbank rates that banks give to each other. You generally need to take off around 3 or 4 cents for the major currencies with a bit more for the lesser currencies.

Thanks jneufeld, agree it's cheaper. Will checkout to see if it fits my tight scheduling. Need 240 SC's to maintain Plat by May 30 (after trip in April) but time for runs is very limited with work at present.

I have found SYD - HBA in J during May for $489 each way for 80 SC's (160 for DSC promo). Now just trying to find a promo code for May flights before end of DSC promo on 15 March. Anybody seen any?
