    Strategy to obtain US Amex

United travel bank is really the only well known option that works if it isn't an incidental up to this point. Hot topic on US travel sites ;) However for AA it does look like booking a discount ticket and then paying for a higher fare class later on for some extra SCs (fare difference fee)...

AFF Review: Jetstar 787-8 Business Class (SYD-ICN)

Nice review, saw JQ flights for SYD-ICN come to around $2000 return when the price is at is lowest with the Max bundle so would be interested in this come vacation time.

Qantas boosts international capacity, wet lease Finnair aircraft

Looking quite tempting to go to Singapore and get upgraded to J from a Y saver fare but might be some competition of people wanting to try those seats around early December.

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Yep did exactly that and its 1.45% no matter which Amex you have worldwide, unlike in the case of Visa/MC.

    Fiji Air Status Credit Accrual

From Nadi to the US the J status credits doesnt drop off a lot booking on a FJ code it looks like. But coming out of Australia to Nadi is where it drops off hard from 85 to 40 on a FJ code, probably the simpler and fairer policy for OW partners.

    Fiji Air Status Credit Accrual

According to some reports on FJ flights, OW status is not applicable for extra checked baggage, so you might need the Value fare anyway.

    Fiji Air Status Credit Accrual

I do know that QF codes for FJ metal are available on the Qantas website, but cant get it into one itinerary even with the multi city tool (SYD-NAN then NAN-SFO). It is a fair bit more expensive though with the QF codes. Still get status credits on FJ-marketed flights as long as it is not the...

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

Probably the state of hotel status in the US now, people over there get surprised with upgrades. While overseas it is more frequent.

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

A bit OTT, so far my Hilton experiences have been good granted I have only been in Australia and NZ hotels. Getting 14x on the Aspire for Hilton properties has also been good... As an Aussie would you recommend Marriott as a secondary option if there is no Hilton around (e.g. Canberra and...

    Qantas Points Club Discussion

I decided to get in quick for the StG/BoM/BankSA cards before they hike up the annual fee big time for Qantas cards come July. $295 annual fee + $75 Qantas Program fee for the Dragon signature come 20th July...

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

If you can find a way to use all the benefits of the US cards that is a win. The Hilton Aspire is one of the easy wins - Free Night that is easy to use since standard rooms are available most of the time except for some famous resorts - $250 Resort Credit which does have some hurdles but can be...

MAS Business points given as Flexible Economy

Any earn between Australia and Asia flying other oneworld partners on their codes seems to be halved or even less than that. Happens when you fly on CX, MH, BA or JL out of Australia on their codes. Intra Asia still seems to be worth it though, goes back to the full SC rate.

Credit Card Offers CommBank Ultimate Awards Card: 100K award points – potentially fee free

Might be a good time to combine the current ipaymy offer with the Ultimate Awards card to pay off ATO bills and get the bonus points with no fee, hitting the 4k spend. Problem is I still need to wait a month to be eligible for the bonus points again. Edit: If you want something easier to spend...

    Best Sunshine Coast Accor property?

Thanks for the suggestions above. Also looking at this and the Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort looks great with the current off peak rates but its a matter of catching public transport and it looks like a 25 minute walk to the nearest bus stop. Is there any good transportation around the area...

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

I signed up to Zip when it was first introduced so it might not have been as stringent with applications back then. Overall still a smooth experience with Bpay and the repayment to credit card.

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

If you pay all of it off every month there will be no fees. Zippay is now fee-free for all BPAY transactions since February.

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

There is always Zippay as another no Bpay fee option if Beemit puts a stop to credit cards but you can only go as far as the assigned credit limit given ($1000 or $2000). At least it works for every credit card I think except for Suncorp ones. So far all the banks give out points. No errors so far.

    New Amex statement credits

With the 2 Ampol offers at the same time, saw two Amazon Gift cards in the Ampol store and decided to spend on that. Made 2 transactions on it. Both Amex Offers went through, pretty neat.
